“A gem that is no longer hidden.”
Reviewed 10 March 2013

Following a brilliant Valentine's night meal we attempted to book a table for Mother's Day but had left it to late fully booked, amazing how the smell of delicous food soon gets around. So not as to miss out on another chance to try the Brickyard's menu we went on saturday night and they are delivering dishes of such a high quality and consistency for a new restaurant they are to be congratulated. We enjoyed another great meal, good wine and first class service front of house, well worth going a day early.

“A hidden gem. Highly recommended.”
Reviewed 9 March 2013 via mobile

We visited based on other tripadvisor reviews and weren't disappointed. Don't be put off by driving down a narrow residential street, the pub its attached to or the lack of signage; its worth the effort!

Excellent welcome and friendly service. Time taken to explain the menu which had a reasonable selection.

Great soup to start with and just the right amount of time between courses. Mains were hot and good sized portions. Posh chicken in a basket, lamb with really nice crushed potatoes and a kids portion of haddock and chips (with really good fresh batter cooked in clean oil.) The chunky chips were great.

We only turned down the deserts because we were full.

No service charge or tip added or requested, so left a good one!

Definitely worth finding.

“really nice food and great service”
Reviewed 9 March 2013 via mobile

Lovely menu. Mains ranged from approx £10 to £16 and included a good variety. On booking a table we were asked if we had any special dietary requirements. The restaurant is half of the pub, which is devided with a partition. We originally sat next to the bar, but it was a bit to bright and it lacked atmosphere so we moved and it was much cosier. The food was very good and I am pretty fussy. The service was great, prompt and friendly without over bothering us. We will go back, I want to try more.

Exceptional restaurant food in a relaxed environment
Can't Believe this little gem has popped up in what was a run downBoozer.basically the pub has been divided in two with the right hand side becoming the brick yard restaurant
Interesting menu with good quality ingredients the pheasant hash starter pleased as did the mussel dish all served with home baked breads
Home made burgers ( thank goodness) and slow cooked shoulder of lamb superb
Even had dessert and that is unusual for me again very good.
As long as the menu changed regularly I can see it going from strength to strength
Well don Dan ( Chef )

Thank you for the excellent review. You will be pleased to know that I aim to change the menu on a regular basis, focusing on seasonal and local produce. If ever you would like different varieties of fresh fish or meat that is not on the menu, please do not hesitate to ask. I can always order it in and create a new dish.
