This was the last B&B we stayed at on our ten-day walk on the Cotswolds Way last week. It was also the best. Everything was perfect! Bed, breakfast, bathroom, garden, everything. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was a delightful stay. I have used Tripadvisor for several years, but this B&B was so nice that I finally decided to figure out how to leave a review.

My husband and I stayed at Cornflake Cottage this weekend while going to a local wedding. Just off the A46 and only 3 miles from Junction 18 of the M4, Cornflake Cottage is a perfect retreat and base for exploring or a simple overnight stay. It is only a 3 minute drive to the Bath 'park and ride' so perfect for a day in the historical city too. Being so close to the motorway means it would also make an perfect overnight stop en route while travelling.
We booked by phone and on arriving were greeted by our most pelasant hosts by name and offered tea and coffee. It was great and we supped our refreshments in the beautiful garden where furniture had been set out for us. The accommodation has its own entrance and comprises a beamed ‘snug’ with a dining table for 4 where breakfast is served and a sumptuous settee and a large fireplace with wood burner. Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms and the bathroom. We stayed in the double room which was freshly decorated and cottagey. The accommodation has been recently refurbished and should suit even the fussiest visitors.
Our hosts were perfect and the English breakfast fresh and plentiful. We will keep this on our ‘revisit’ list and have recommended it to our local friends too. Great attention to detail has been paid to every aspect of the visitors’ stay and I wish Diane and her husband every success.

I stayed here for three nights whilst on business in Bath. It's only 4.7 miles from the Lansdown Park & Ride to the north of the City. Cornflake Cottage to Bath Guildhall took 30 minutes in rush hour - a good time.

Diane Davies the proprietrix keeps an absolutely spotlessly clean, delightful B&B with (for walkers) the long distance Cotswold Way footpath running past the property. It has two guest rooms (one double, one twin) and is in the hamlet of Pennsylvania on the A46 just north of the A430 Bristol to Chippenham road. The bathroom serving both rooms looked brand new, it was so pristine. My room, the smaller of the two, lacked a hanging cupboard (there is a set of clothes hooks on the wall which was sufficient for my suits and coat) but had a very comfortable bed, TV and a kettle. The only aspect preventing a 5th green blob for 'excellent' from me for this otherwise superbly presented and managed B&B was the annoying electric shower, which oscilated from very cold to very hot.

There is a guests' sitting room with a wood-burner that Diane keeps lit - very welcoming on a chilly night or morning. A generous cooked breakfast - if you choose this from the menu provided the previous evening - is provided at a time to suit: mine was at 0700h.

Guests' accomodation is in the original part of the cottage: Diane and her husband live in the newer extension, so there is some sense of privacy not always found in B&Bs. The house is decorated and furnished with fine taste and both the house and the pleasant garden are in very well kept condition.

The best aspect of this B&B was the customer care though: it was a welcoming stay all round. I would happily stay again. At £45/night single occupancy it is excellent value for money.

Room Tip: The twin room has ample hanging wardrobe space if this is important, but both rooms are a delight.
