Description: Freds Beer and Tapas: Our building at 4 Market Place, was home to the White Lion Hotel. The Landlord, Frederick Butcher was born in Bath in 1860 and was a beer and wine merchant. "Fred" as he was known by the locals, also founded Lion Brewery Chippenham Ltd, during the late 1800s and early 1900s. The building was later taken over by brewers Ushers of Trowbridge and over the years there have been a variety of uses for the building including a bakery and clothing shop. Fred was passionate about flavoursome brews and wines and we at Freds Beer & Tapas celebrate and share this passion by serving a carefully selected range of beers and wines that fuse in a heavenly match with our other passion for Spain and authentic Spanish tapas. Be prepared to experience and savour some of our favourite tapas dishes and drinks in our intimate sociable setting or relax with a cold beer in our rear Beer Terrace. We are an exclusive evening tapas bar and walk-ins are welcome, we do have a limited amount of tables and to allow others to experience Freds, the maximum group size that we can accommodate is 6 persons. We operate a "sitting" system enabling guests to enjoy a 2 hour window to experience Freds. The "sittings" start at the following times 6pm, 7pm, 830pm & 9pm.We advise booking in advance to avoid any disappointment. Our kitchen opens at 6pm and closes at 930pm with last orders taken at 9pm.

Summing up several visits to this little gem , good selection of authentic tapa along with fresh beers and wine selection .great for a leisurely dinner or just a cool beer . Or just pop in for a couple of tapa and a glass of vino or bottle of cava ! Very relaxed , friendly and just a great place to chill out really.
No bookings taken so be quick to arrive early if your famished otherwise take a drink and wait for a table

Wasn't sure that this place was going to be really authentic - but the food is fantastic. Particularly enjoyed the almonds, chorizo and tortilla. Chippenham needs a place like this. Will definitely be back.

We visited Los Amigos last night & we are incredibly impressed. It has a really good atmosphere, The cuisine was perfect. We highly recommend the Albóndigas: 'Spanish style meatballs'. Cooked to perfection.

Quality for the price: If anything I think Los Amigos could certainly do with putting their prices UP! The food is of high standard and good quality. You also get a lot of food for what dish you choose. The portions are generous and you will leave feeling comfortably full.

Service:
.
We were greeted an appointed to our table by a smart well presented friendly member of staff. We ordered our drinks and shortly after ordered from the menu. The service was quick, the food was presented nicely and the staff were all very polite.

I would like to point out just what a good feel I got from being in this restaurant. With the Spanish music playing in the background, the colour scheme on the walls and 'sangria' attracting you to the menu, you will leave this place feeling like you have visited a real traditional Spanish restaurant.

I highly recommend & will most certainly visit again.

Always been a fan of Cafe Mi the coffee next door and owned by same people as Los Amigos as the service in there is always great. Their expansion into tapas next door is a very welcome addition to Chippenham. It's a small intimate venue giving it authenticity with a good selection of authentic dishes all at very good prices. Great selection of well chosen beers and wines. The portion sizes are very good and better than you would get at a chain tapas restaurant you may be familiar with. Great friendly service. My only minor little niggle is that the patatas bravas we had weren't fried, they were actually new potatoes covered in sauce. Would definitely be returning.

Thank you for your feedback and we are so happy that you enjoyed your visit and experience with us. We apologise that the Patatas Bravas were not what your were expecting and actually they should not have been served in this way. I can assure you that they are all now served fried and invite you for a portion on the house next time you are passing, Thanks again, Matt
