attended a wedding there - was excellent, overseen by the marvellous Hayley. Marvellous venue for a smaller wedding. Beautifully set down in the valley. We stayed in Stoneycombe bedroom for 2 nights, it was very noisey, smelly and hot, even with the window open, as it has the kitchen flue right by window, and also boiler in the room. Luckily there was two sofas in a small lounge area to sit on, on the landing. If you have problems walking or are in a wheel chair BIckley has lots of quirky stairs and a very steep ramp up to the bedrooms, which is too steep for a wheel chair to go down - as we were told by another couple, although access is flat into the bar/restaurant. Beautifully furnished bedrooms, most of the staff are very helpful, pretty gardens, lovely decking area, lots of parking. Don't have a gluten/wheat free menu for those that have to - one of which I am. We were "orange" and "t-mobile" networks, no signal, so had to go for a drive to make a phone call!!

Room Tip: Riveria room is the best one!! Eaves is no good if you are very tall!!

Just had a lovely lunch with our three young children aged 5,3 and 1. Staff were lovely, food was lovely, great choice for the whole family. Nothing too much trouble. Couldn't ask for more from lunch out, we hope to return before we go home, thanks!

We booked Bickley Mill for our wedding reception and evening celebration last year ( Simon & Linzi ) and Matt and Hayley did not fail to deliver on any front. Everything was done to perfection and we got great value for money along with exceptional food and service yesterday ( 3rd August 2012 ).

The planning part of the wedding was detailed and missed nothing over the few sessions we had. We hired the Millers Room and had exclusive hire of the decking area which worked perfectly for us and even the British weather held out !!!.

Out of 56 guests there were no complaints of any kind with regards to the quality and quantity of food served for our day. The food tasting session was good to !!!! The evening BBQ was a great hit and smelt and tasted delicious.

And the recommended DJ Ady Bing was spot on, if you get chance to book him do so.

Our guests filled all the plush bedrooms for the night and all had a good sleep then got up for a cooked to order breakfast which was lovely.

We cannot recommend The Bickley Mill highly enough for a Wedding Venue ( or just a restuarant ) as it was and is superb. Don't bother going anywhere else as you will love it.
This venue is classic and has style in abundance for relaxing Wedding Day.

Special thanks to Matt and Hayley for all their hard work over the last few months and especially yesterday, along with all the other staff who made our day special and we wouldn't of changed a thing.

Room Tip: Any Room is a superb room.

We booked exclusive use of The Bickley Mill Inn to celebrate our daughters wedding last Sunday. Hayley the wedding coordinator and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make our day perfect, and it was. I cannot fault the venue, the food, the staff and the quality of the accommodation. Most of our guests had travelled quite long distances to join us and were all very taken with the location and attention to detail. If you are thinking of booking this venue for a celebration do not hesitate it is fantastic.

Stayed at the Bickley Mill with my girlfriend and my daughter a couple of days ago. Just stayed the one night and it was an unscheduled stop over.

Turned out to be great, staff friendly, good accommodation, great food and easy check in and check out.

Would recommend.

Held our wedding at the Bickley Mill on Saturday. Couldn't fault it in any way- Hayley the events manager lovely, so helpful, thoughful and efficient. We felt that nothing was too much trouble for her- she clearly enjoys her job and went out of her way to make our day special. We had the barbecue menu- all our guests commented on how good the food was- really excellent quality, perfectly cooked with a good selection and more than we could all possibly eat. Superb setting for our wedding and would suit almost any type of event- we were so lucky with the weather so we could use the gardens for photos and our guest chilled out on the decking area, but if it had been raining it would have still worked. The hotel had just been taken over and the new owners obviously have every intention to retain the good reputation that the Bickley Mill already has. We stayed overnight and they do have a honeymoon suite but we chose another room as we felt the Riviera Room does not have the wow factor to justify the extra cost. The room with did have was spot on- quiet, comfortable, clean and with a huge bathroom. Just one minor niggle- after such an amazing day, breakfast was a bit of an anti-climax. Staff not massively attentive, continental selection not replenished frequently enough and the cooked breakfast by no means outstanding but I guess you can't have everything and please don't let these small issues put you off. All in all- and with the benefit of the day behind us, what would we have changed? - absolutely nothing- Hayley, Matt and all at the Bickley Mill thank you so much!

Stayed here a few times ! Haven't found anywhere better to stay in the area. There is a mixture of contemporary and old world charm. Staff are all excellent, pleasant and attentive.Food is ok - though I did think on this visit breakfast was not as good as in the past. Apart from that can't fault the place - if you are looking for somwhere to stay in the Newton Abbot area, and like me hate bland chain hotels, don't think twice - book this one !

Room Tip: Go for the top floor - the floorboards creak alot and you are better off with no-one above you !
