Only there for one nigh on a business trip so.... Upon arrival at a very easy to find hotel and access to a large car park, I was pleased to find a welcoming member of staff at reception who was friendly, helpful and engaging.
My room was spacious and spotless, the bed big and comfortable, just what it says on the tin !
The sleep was spoilt by the inconsideration of fellow guests who did a fantastic imitation of a troupe of clog wearing ballet dancing hippo's between the main room and the bathroom in the wee hours - Thanks for that.
The facilities are adequate and the food next door in the pub was reasonable with efficient staff.

I will stay there again but check first to see if any performing circus is in town.

Room Tip: Get a room on he top floor to avoid the footfall noise.

For my long birthday weekend we wanted to take in some coastal walks around Dartmouth, Stoke Fleming, Shaldon etc,, as well as Dartmoor and Exeter. This hotel is ideally situated for everything we had planned and therefore made the decision for me - I like the Premier Inn brand. Breakfast at the connecting Beefeater is the usual fare - buffet, porridge, 'full works', and of course Costa Coffee - not bad for an additional £8.75pp. Our hotel room was noise free, clean and the place generally is still fairly new looking. The only downside is the wifi kept dropping, and you have to pay for more than 30 minutes. But then, we were here to explore the area, not play around on our ipads. Otherwise, no complaints.

On our way to Cornwall we stopped here to see some of Devon, but not to be in the thick of it. Convenient for buses and trains the Riviera. A mile and a mile and a half respectively. Tesco is straight across the road and it's just over a mile walk into town.
Rooms were very clean as was the rest of the hotel. They have a Quiet Zone for family's which is in a separate hallway accessed by your room card. I thought that was a great idea.
The only tiny niggle was the bathroom extractor. After about a minute it kicked in and the noise in the room was really loud especially when you have a sleeping child. You couldn't hear it on the bathroom????

The staff make this property. At check in/out and whenever you walk through reception there is always some friendly chit-chat.

The rooms are well appointed - comfy bed, plenty of room to work and relax, plenty of plug sockets, etc. The one thing that could be slightly better is the sound insulation and one night I had someone particularly noisy above, but it was no big issue.

Some reviewers have commented on mobile signal and I think it depends on your network, I had good Three coverage on 3G throughout my stay and there was always the hotel WiFi (free for 30minutes) if all else fails.

There is a Tesco 24 hour supermarket and petrol station directly over the road - useful for any bits and pieces you need during your stay.

The attached Beefeater serves good and reasonably priced evening meals and a plentiful and well cooked breakfast.

The staff are professional, extremely efficient, friendly and well informed about the local area. Upon arrival I asked the receptionist the location of a particular shop, he went to the trouble of printing off details and even providing a map with the Inn and the shop marked off. Very impressed. When you make a booking they send very precice and helpful directions for finding the inn. The position of the inn is ajoining the Race course. There is ample parking. The restaurant next door is good value and serves good food.
