Quite possibly the worst meal I've ever been served. Steak and ale pie, reheated in a microwave resulting in pastry with a texture like softened playdough and containing over-salted meat. Over-cooked vegetables and far too much synthetic gravy which was totally at odds with the grey contents of the pie.
My wife's meal was no better. Over-cooked, chewy cod in a thick, 'heavy-going' batter' served with chips which were barely passable. The accompanying 'tartare sauce' was of the commercial variety which was devoid of any gherkins and capers.
It's utterly beyond me how a pub serving food this bad manages to survive.
