....we enjoyed a great meal in this centuries-old Inn ! Teeming with character from the Inglenook fireplaces to the rickety steps and the myriad nooks and crannies, this place really oozes charm and history. Very few people were dining on the night we went due to the inclement weather but still there was plenty of atmosphere..... Really friendly service backed up a comprehensive Dinner menu. We all had the duck based on others' recommendations......and a fantastic choice it was ! Succulent, lots of meat, perfectly cooked with a very tasty plum & orange sauce, this really got the taste buds salivating ! Reasonably priced and good wine menu complimented the set-up. Cain the Owner/Chef clearly knows what he wants based on a lifetime in the service industry ; he appears to deliver on all fronts. Engage him in conversation about the Inn, the village etc and you will be absorbed by his impressive knowledge, anecdotes and stories in general. Excellent service from all the back-up staff !!
