Had a great couple of days at Roman Camp Hotel. Yellow Parlour room was quaint and comfortable . Staff very friendly service excellent! The food was fabulous served in an exquisite dinning room felt very special. Breakfast was also served in main dinning room. This hotel is very quirky and well worth a visit if you can afford £245 per night.

WOW wow wow I have been in travel for over 30 years and well used to different types of standards in hotels. This was a 1 night stop on our way to another hotel. I so wished this was the hotel we had chooen for our longer stay. Garvin greeted us with a very warm and friendly manner, nothing was too much trouble. Explained everything there was to know for our over night and breakfast. The hotel was enchanting with buckets of Oldie Worldly everything looked immaculate attention to detail was obvious, even the aroma that followed you around the hotel was welcoming. Our Breakfast was everything your would wish for, everything was perfect and I do mean PERFECT. I cannot wait to book this hotel again. I honestly could not reccommend it highly enough. Thank you Roman Camp Hotel Heather, Malcolm and Mia Pup McLennan

Room Tip: This hotel is even worth going to for lunch a drink and a walk around the well kept gardens. On the river also with heron, ducks and other birds to view. Just beautiful inside and out.

My wife's parents had their honeymoon at the hotel. As a young girl they would take her there for high tea. It was therefore logical for us to stay en route and raise a few memories. It really hasn't changed much, she observed. Indeed, it almost seemed out of place, caught in a time lock of yesteryear. It's plush and comfortable like a much loved old settee. To me it was the epitome of a stoutly traditional British hotel complete with dusty library and potted plants. Entirely in character our room was almost overly comfortable with lovely views of the garden. The problem was that there was hardly anybody staying there. You know that feeling when you enter a large, rated restaurant and there are only two other people seated. You wonder if you are in the wrong place. The hotel has an elegant dining room and a very good reputation for their food. I thought it appropriate to dress for dinner (that means a jacket and tie). As it turned out there were only two other couples dining so they put us in the secondary dining room, the one normally reserved for breakfast. And we were sort of spread out so only a brief nod passed between the diners. To be fair we must say that the food was quite outstanding. The celeriac soup was a masterpiece and the loin of lamb was cooked to perfection. For breakfast we were completely on our own, just us and two hovering servers. Perhaps you can now understand our title - Mixed feelings, very mixed feelings. If we were to add a postscript to Callander it would be to say how devastated we were by the massive, and we do mean massive, amount of clear cut logging going on in this most beautiful part of Scotland.

This was my wife and I's second visit to this exquisite hotel and as usual the experience was outstanding. The first was a wedding and in my experience as a videographer having taken hundreds of weddings this was with out doubt the best. Food, service and surroundings were all out of this world. Our second visit was for Grand Afternoon Tea donated by our Niece and Nephew and again was outstanding, served in the library. An abundance of savouries, sandwiches cream scones and delicious cakes made this a visit to remember. The old world atmosphere just adds to the enjoyment and to be honest we cannot wait for our next visit. Try to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Room Tip: We did not stay overnight.
