“Very biased review of a lovely bridge & waterfall...”

OK, this is very biased review, so look away if you want a more balanced review. ;)

We live just outside of Callander, so this is technically the closest walk from our place. Easy walk for the family (if my children between 3-9 can do it, so can yours!) and fascinating bridge to behold. You can walk beyond the bridge, but for those with little ones, the bridge is a good place to stop, enjoy the waterfall, scenery and everything else!

Diversion on ascent due to storm damage. Worth the effort as the view was excellent all round. A great walk.

Very natural and breathtaking views. A long walk up the hills but worth the effort. The falls are large and there are lots of walks close by. During the summer months it has less water flowing but when the rains are about the river and falls come into there own.

I suggest 1 to 2 hours as we went there for a slow walk, enjoying the scenery and took some photos of the views, bridge and river. You need some good walking boots.

Bracklinn falls were not easy to find but once we parked in the carpark marked for the walkers up to the falls, it was a short and quiet walk to the falls. Tree felling on the way was a bit disquietining but the falls were well worth the visit. The wooden bridge over the falls provides great views and you can stop under the bridge or down by the falls for a quiet picnic. Water is not terribly cold so you can also stroll around in the water if you wish. We also took a walk around the falls and it did not disappoint.
One strage incident that put a dent to the whole experience was the bee attack on the way back to the car park. Both me and my husband were terrorised by a flock of bees all the way back to the car for 1 km. I have no idea why this happened as we did not step on or go near any bee nests. It may be totally random but beware in any case.
