Great wee property and ideal to use as a base for sight seeing. The flat had everything we needed and the welcome pack was a really nice touch.

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed 31 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

First time booking this type of accommodation in this country, and would certainly recommend this property. The personal touches were appreciated, tea, coffee, milk and shortbread, fresh flowers it is centrally located on the main street in Callander. Plenty to do round and about, also plenty of places to eat during the day and night. Was made very welcome by the owners. The outside space was a bonus and with the weather being good, it was perfect .setting. Would book this accommodation again.

“Lovely wee place to stay”

We stayed at this property for our wedding weekend and it was really nice. Lots of privacy, very comfy, centrally located and reasonably priced. Everything was in very good condition and we especially loved having access to a small private garden to drink a pre-rehearsal dinner gin and nurse our post-wedding heads with coffee. The owners were lovely and very helpful.

Only thing I would call a "negative" as such was the lack of wifi or phone reception to get our own internet. This was a bit of an issue for us because of last minute contacts for wedding etc but I think if you're really looking to get away from it all then this wee place is perfect.

“Very well equipped apartment, centrally located, excellent hosts, a pleasure.”

This apartment had everything we needed and they also accepted our small well behaved pets which was important to us as a family. The Hosts were first class and very thorough, on arrival we were checked in and given the health and safety tour, it was explained where everything was and how it all worked. Situated on the High Street and close to shops, restaurants, pubs, with lovely riverside walk for our pets. We had a wonderful time with our family and would not hesitate to return or recommend this ideally situated accommodation. Having teenagers with us also made the location perfect as they were able to have some independence. Thank you.x

Thank you for such a lovely review. We are so glad that you and your family had a good time. We agree that our accommodation is well situated for enjoying the shops, restaurants etc. and, of course, all the lovely walks. We had not considered really that the central location allows older children a degree of freedom they would not have at more remote accommodation so we really appreciate you pointing that out to us and to future guests. Very helpful! Kind regards to you and your family, Christine and Susan

“Fantastic stay!”

We stayed at Buchanan for 2 weeks from the 26th July, and felt it provided a lovely accommodation for us to stay in for our holiday. We are a family of 2 Adults and 2 Children (girl age 11, and boy age 8). It was the perfect place to access the Commonwealth Games events in Glasgow that we went to see, and then the best place to do some lovely local walks and bike rides, and trips to Stirling and Edinburgh!
The double room has plenty of wardrobe / drawer space to be able to unpack, and settle in. The kitchen is functional, with a good size fridge and freezer. There is also a washing machine.
The lounge is comfy, with a selection of family games and dvd's for a rainy day provided!
The twin bedroom is perfect for the children to sleep in.
The bathroom has an amazingly hot shower over the bath, and plenty of space to unpack your wash bag!
Overall, we were very impressed with the cleanliness and layout of the accommodation.
The welcome milk, coffee, tea and biscuits was a nice touch, and then I discovered that the kitchen / bathroom had the basic supplies of kitchen/bathroom cleaner, washing up liquid, j-cloths, bleach, and clingfilm, foil, kitchen roll etc. that are essential for being in a home from home!
We also found it very useful to keep our 4 bikes in the outside lockable shed. It was very easy to access this outside space using a lane at the side of the house.
The CO-OP supermarket is just a few doors away, and that proved very useful on a daily basis for buying fresh picnic supplies and the odd meal to cook!
The only downside is that the property doesn't have WiFi, which initially worried my husband, but we discovered that the a local pub, or even the Tourist Information Office a few doors up the road, provided WiFi when needed!
Callander is a lovely town, and there is still so much more for us to see in the local area, and beyond, so we will definitely be returning to the area at some point in the future!

Thank you for such a wonderful review of Buchanan in Callander. We know how important family holiday time is and couldn't be more pleased that you had an enjoyable stay. The Commonwealth Games were quite something - and you picked a good base with Callander being roughly 45 minutes from Glasgow and Edinburgh. We know from personal correspondence that you felt the area had so much to offer families that you will be returning. What better accolade for Loch Lomond and the Trossachs! Haste ye back!
