Back for a 5th visit to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. Unlike last year when we had to contend with heavy rain and hurricane winds the weather was perfect. Served with tea and shortcake biscuits on the terrace when we arrived and every day thereafter just right after a long walk or drive. Visitors must sample one of Mike's special driving day tours to really see the area although the driver does not get much of a chance as he is praying that the car does not breakdown. The food as usual was of the highest order and the craic from the other two couples staying made our holiday. Stayed in the Blue Room with its imposing view of the garden but really the other two rooms are just as good-well nearly. The bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary was in a cold jug in the room plus a box of Thorntons chocolates which was a nice touch. Many thanks to Mike and Lesley and will be back again next year.

Room Tip: Book in advance as this is a very popular b'n'b

We spent 2 nights at the Westerton in the Green room. Everything about this place is just perfect. Lesley and Mike are very welcoming and were so helpful when we asked for suggestions about how to make the most of our time in this area. The B&B is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. Our room was supremely comfortable and absolutely huge. The breakfasts were amazing. We just loved this place!

Everything about our 2 night stay at Westerton was wonderful; 5* plus! Mike and Lesley are charming, welcoming hosts and the Blue Room was superb. Fabulous service, breakfasts, decor, gardens( with a young stag unexpectedly joining the ducks and pheasant); what more to say....

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday on Skye, rounded off with a couple of nights in our favourite B&B.

It is now 6 years since our first visit to Westerton (when we were so impressed with our overnight stay at the start of our holiday that we changed our plans so that we could also fit in another night on our way home) and the welcome and surroundings are still as good, if not better than previously.

We have also managed to incorporate trips to Westerton on other occasions since our first visit, and spent our 20th wedding anniversary in the Blue Room (which Lesley remembered, even though that was 4 years ago).

They really are the perfect hosts, and we look forward to enjoying their hospitality once again.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent value for money, but the Blue Room is very special, with wonderful views of...

My partner and I stayed here in April 2012. We are in our late 20s. We booked the blue room and had a lovely view of the garden with two huge seats that we positioned to face the window (so we could enjoy the view).

The room was large, clean, smelled great and the King Size bed was very comfortable (lovely sheets and pillows too).

We also got to view the other rooms and all of them were lovely with good views.

Mike and Lesley were very helpful in terms of their area/trip knowledge and advice (from booking us a spot of the Walter Scott Boat to guiding our car out of the drive way)! They also provide a handy information folder with lots of things to see and do so you don't even need to research the area before you go!

Breakfasts were excellent. You can be very healthy or a bit of fatty!

The location is excellent. Walks/cycles right on your door step, village center about 5 mins away. Pubs and restaurants start about 1 minute away! And yes, there is football shown in the local places (and a TV in the room if you need it). Come rain, snow or shine (and in two nights we had all three) there is something to do. And of course, you can always relax and do nothing.

There are great restaurants too! Poppies is lovely, though lacked a bit of atmosphere (felt more like a library than a restaurant, something as simple as playing music would sort this though), the Italian is FAB and good value for money!

Overall, a great place to stay and be.

Room Tip: All of them are nice, we booked the blue room so we could sit on two huge chairs and enjoy the view.

What a perfect retreat. Beautiful rooms, wonderful riverside setting and marvelous hosts, Mike and Lesley. We needed a relaxing break and that's exactly what we found here, staying in the palacious and sumptuous Blue Room. Just superb. We look forward to our next stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice, but the Blue Room is very special, and if you are looking for a romantic break...
