This must be the best B&B in which we have ever stayed. Couldn't quite believe all reviews before were excellent but can see why now. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed into Mike & Lesley's stunning home. The guidance on where to eat and what to see led to a very memorable stay. The breakfast and surroundings at Westerton were outstanding. Will recommend to others and would love to come back.

Since 2007 when we discovered Westerton we have stayed with Mike and Lesley on numerous occasions enjoying their superb hospitality and beautiful house and garden. Over the last 30 years we have used many B&Bs, some of which we have thought to be very good. However when we arrived at Westerton we knew that we were experiencing something very special, hence the many return visits. My husband submitted a review after our first visit, and we agree with all of the positive and complimentary reviews of others. After so many repeat visits we think that it is appropriate to report on the consistency of the exceptional quality of this B&B. We hope that you have the pleasure of staying with Mike and Lesley in the future, so long as you leave some days free for us to visit again.

We found this Stunning B&B via the internet. It exceeded all our expectations, from the moment we arrived to a warm and gracious welcome, with tea on the terrace, overlooking the beautiful gardens, to the time we sadly had to say goodbye. We stayed in The Gold room which overlooked the garden, a very generously proportioned room, with a large ensuite bathroom, everything was immaculate.Mike and Leslie are very gracious hosts, and very knowledgeable on all the surrounding areas offering advise and suggestions on places to visit and the best way to get there. The breakfast room is a beautiful calm room to start your day, with a lovely selection of fruit and cereals as well as fabulous set breakfast menus to suit all tastes and appetites. There are some excellent Restaurants close by:- Poppies, The Lade Inn and a good Chinese and Indian restaurant, it was a shame we didn't have time to sample them all. We so fell in love with The Westerton and Mike and Leslie that we are going back again in April next year :- we can't wait..

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms in this beautiful Victorian home and all are generously proportioned, the Blu...

Spent two nights in the Green Room recently en route to the Highlands. Warm welcome from knowledgeable hosts, lovely home, excellent breakfast. Good restaurants within walking distance: Callander Meadows and Poppies.

From the moment you arrive you realise Westerton is very special. Mike and Lesley simply cannot do enough to make you feel at home and that level of personal care and attention never falters. Nothing is too much trouble and they just continue to show genuine interest in making your stay memorable. The house itself is beautifully furnished; the bedrooms are spacious and very, very comfortable. The Blue Room in particular is superb. Needless to say the breakfasts are excellent. There is simply no point in staying anywhere else!

My husband and I stayed at the Westerton for 2 nights while touring Scotland on our own for a week. We found the Westerton enchanting, and easily the best bed and breakfast we have stayed at because of the great accommodations and our gracious hosts Leslie and Mike. We reserved the Blue Room. It is a lovely large room with a king-size bed and a gorgeous view of the garden from the bay window. Upon arrival, Leslie served us drinks, shortbread, and fruit on the patio. A very friendly duck arrived soon after looking for treats as well - receiving bread instead of shortbread! The next morning we saw a male pheasant and two females wandering the garden. Breakfast was also a great experience served in a very elegant yet comfortable breakfast room. My husband had the traditional Scottish breakfast, while I had the yogurt with honey and homemade granola. Both were exceptionally good!
Leslie and Mike compiled a fantastic notebook giving recommendations on various things to do in the area as well as local restaurants. We toured Doune Castle - where Monty Python and the Holy Grail was filmed. Afterwards, Mike found us the DVD to watch so we could compare the movie to the places we had just visited. We also walked the trails to the old Roman fort and to Bracklinn Falls - both very enjoyable.
While we were there, Leslie and Mike received their 2013 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. An achievement well deserved. When we return to Scotland, the Westerton is definitely a must stay for us again!

There are many reasons why Lesley and Mike's Westerton Bed and Breakfast is number one in the area. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, Lesley and Mike went out of their way to create absolute perfection!
When we arrived, we were graciously offered tea and biscuits in the "breakfast room," which overlooks the beautiful grounds Westerton sits upon, and any stress from the day's travels just slipped away. We immediately understood that Leslie and Mike's mission is to make their guests as comfortable and welcome as possible, truly a home away from home.
We had the pleasure of staying in the "Blue Room." Of all bed and breakfasts we stayed, it was the best room we have enjoyed thus far. It was incredibly clean, well-appointed, organized, and oh so beautiful. We were fortunate to have the view of the garden from our window; I could have sat for hours and just watched the landscape...just lovely. The bed was so comfortable, providing further relaxation.
The breakfasts were delicious! We have many dietary restrictions, and Leslie and Mike went out of her way to accommodate them. (We later learned that Lesley has a background in nutrition, yet another plus.)
Westerton is situated in a perfect area for exploring the Trossachs; it is even located within walking distance of several very nice restaurants.
Not only did Lesley and Mike provide an impeccable place to stay, but they proved to be excellent ambassadors for the area as well. Maps were available for guests to use, and Lesley and Mike were more than willing to provide additional directions and offer suggestions. In fact, we had an early morning tour scheduled at our next destination, and we underestimated the drive time, even though we had specific directions and drive times from the internet. If Lesley and Mike did not take it upon themselves to alert us to this fact, we would have missed the tour completely!
Modifying our drive time meant a VERY early morning departure from Westerton. Not wanting to put out our gracious hosts, we told them we didn't expect to see them in the morning for our departure, telling them fruit would suffice for breakfast. However, once we went downstairs, we were greeted by soft candlelight filling the breakfast room. Lesley was there, sure to greet us with a nice breakfast and a comforting send-off. Sitting in that breakfast room, enjoying our breakfast, while watching the candles gently flicker in the early morning light, made it especially difficult to leave this truly restful place. Lesley was also sure to send us off with some rice milk; she worried we wouldn't have access to any at our next destination.
All of those wonderful gestures truly capture the essence of Lesley and Mike and their beautiful Westerton, where the comfort of guests is truly paramount. We wish we would have booked our entire stay at this one location, the beautiful Westerton.
