warm welcome friendly staff and the best breakfast. we stayed two nights in the Dalgair hotel in Callender and enjoyed our stay. the rooms are clean and comfortable and the service excellent. I would visit this this hotel again. It is good value for money.

Parking available directly outside the hotel which was great (and later found out the hotel's car park was at the rear). Walked in the entrance to find ourselves in the bar - asked for Reception and was told had found it... made my elderly mother and myself a little uncomfortable. The rooms were pretty much as I expected - very basic and, as other reviewers have said, in need of a little money spent on them, particularly in the bathroom (not just replacing the carpet but refitting). On the positive it was clean, and the staff - particularly in the morning - were really nice, helpful and friendly. Relieved we stayed mid week as the noise would have been horrendous over a weekend. It fulfilled our needs though and was worth the price paid.

Was not looking forward to staying in the hotel at all after reading some reviews. The outside does not give a good impression at all, very much in need of a make over, weeds growing out of pipes looks awful !! Walked in to a very noisy but friendly bar to get keys ! First impression of room was mixed, it was very big (we had been given a family room with 4 beds in) newly decorated but very old fashioned furniture and bedding, bathroom had carpet in, the first time i have seen that in years.!! breakfast was good and staff were very friendly. If I had seen this hotel while walking along the street I definitely would not have gone in as it really does look tatty and would not recommend it because of that. The stay for 2 nights was better than I thought it would be, but really can't see us returning to this hotel.

We booked a one night stay as we were at a wedding in Loch vennachar. Arrived early to drop off overnight bag and to change for the wedding. Gave us the use of a toilet. Thankfully we showered before we set off . First impressions not good. Entered the hotel thro a bar and a door badly in need of painting. The stair carpet to the first floor was stained and dirty as were the walls so we were dreading seeing the bedroom when we returned from the wedding venue. We were given our key to room 6 before we left. It was on the top floor (no lift) The room itself was ok. The bed was comfy and clean. The ensuite bathroom however had carpeting which whilst clean isnt something you would expect to see in this day and age. The breakfast in the morning in the pub was good and the service was good. Cereals and fresh fruit and selection of teas and coffee and the cooked breakfast was served to you to order which was a welcomed change from a buffet. The staff were friendly and polite and treated you well.
The pub was busy and noisey on the Saturday night but we went straight to our room and didnt hear a thing. (room 6)

Room Tip: room 6 quiet

We booked a family room as we had our two 8yr old gran-daughters with us. The rrom was very tired looking, but the beds and bedding were clean. I was shocked when I opened the "en-suite bathroom" as it has carpeting on the floor, I couldn't believe it. The dining room was in the bar, although it was comfortable looking. The staff were great but over worked I think. The kitchen was upstairs which menat the staff running up and down the stairs plus cooking and serving the breakfast. On the stairway there was, what looked like a dried in blood trail, at the top of the stairs the glass panel was smashed. No I wouldn't return to that certain hotel. We were woken at four in the morning by a couple of drunk male guests, they were shouting and kicking on another door in our corridor. With no night staff it made us feel very vulnerable, and frightened our grandchildren.

Room Tip: Sorry I can't suggest any room.
