I must admit we were a bit disappointed in Tommy Jacks as a hotel. It is not their fault but the fault of a slightly misleading article in the Gardian. The food was fantastic, the staff was amazing, but they needed far more staff to deal with their success. Waits for food were unacceptable.
The hotel is nicely done up - but views over the roof, or a hot room overlooking the patio - meant a choice between noise or fresh air. They need either air conditioning or ceiling fans to make the rooms more comfortable. And perhaps more than one set of towels per room too. Esp. when you pay for an extra bed to fit three people in. In fairness to the hotel - it was the Guardian who claimed the hotel is 'right on the beach'. Over a road, through a car park and past the vendors - and you get your toes in the sand.
