“Perfect, exceeded my expectations!”
Reviewed 14 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We wanted to book a dog friendly cottage in Cornwall last minute for my birthday weekend! As we already live in a converted barn we have developed quite high standards of places we like to stay and the lodge did not fail to impress! We were charged a very reasonable rate per person which is alot better than paying a set price, especially when there are only the two of us. We are also quite dubious when booking dog friendly places because we know how some stinky pets are allowed on furniture and also we worry about how we can keep it clean. The lodge was perfect with leather settees and wooden floors throughout and most of all a large t.v with sky (added bonus) which is an absolute must when your out all day and want to spend your evenings in. In fact the attention to detail and work that the owners had put in to achieve this high standard was fantastic!
The location was perfect as we could walk our dog on the owners farm fields in the morning, hose him down in the garden and then take a short drive to the beach, Boscastle and also Padstow during the days. The weather was very wet but this did not matter when you have a warm and welcoming retreat waiting to go back to. We did not see 2 of the owners Caroline and James (live next door) very much but knew they were available if we needed them. We were comfortable with this as it didnt feel too imposing. On the day of our departure we chatted to Caroline and Denise who were very friendly and they allowed us to look around the larger accomodation the Hayloft next door. Our first thoughts were wow and we will definately be back, with friends, however happy to stay in either accomodation as both were fabulous!

“5 Star and more!!”
Reviewed 25 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Just spent a fantastic week at Hunters Lodge. Where to start is the hard part leaving was the most difficult!!
A fantastically equipped holiday rental with everything you need to make your holiday relaxed and comfortable.
Hunters Lodge sleeps 4 people in two beautifully decorated bedrooms made all the more enjoyable by Caroline's special touches around the property.
The kitchen is well equipped with a double range cooker, American fridge/freezer with ice and cold water on tap, microwave, coffee machine, washing machine/tumble dryer and dishwasher. Enough crockery and every utensil you could wish for are all to be found.
Having Caroline, James, Rueben and Jago on site is not an intrusion they are available and very accommodating if anything should go wrong (which it didn't).
The added luxury of the spa bath and the lovely wet room shower just added to the overall luxuriousness of this property and my husband and I will have no hesitation in re-booking for another stay early next year.
Special thanks for the welcome tray with milk and delicious brownies and also the wine and card which was left for us as when I booked I mentioned that it was our Anniversary whilst we were staying. These special touches make the stay extra special.
Thank you once again see you soon.

Beautiful cottage, extremely comfortable and in a lovely peaceful setting. Owners really friendly and accomodating. Lots of good restaurants and walks within a short distance. Can't recommend enough. We loved it so much we left a deposit with the owners for a return visit next year!

“Excellent cottage in a quiet location”
Reviewed 1 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We just returned from a great week in Hunters Lodge. It's a very tastefully converted barn to a very high standard. We found all of the rooms larger than we expected from the pictures, and they are all very well equipped, especially the kitchen. The owners live on site, and were extremely helpful with anything we needed, a nice welcoming pint of milk and cakes, but not at all intrusive. It's a very quite location down some typical Cornish lanes with lovely country views, but still has good access to Bude and several beaches. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

“Comfortable, beautiful and very quiet with great views.”
Reviewed 26 July 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We had a lovely week visiting Cornwall once again. The cottage is very well built and finished. We found it impeccable. The kitchen is glorious and well equipped. We spent time in Bude, Widemouth and Pladstow playing on the beach and even cycling the Camel Trail from Wadebridge. The weather was excellent!. The hosts are very welcoming and great you with treats on a tray.

“Fantastic cottage finished to a high standard.”
Reviewed 2 November 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Sadly we are leaving Hunters Lodge tomorrow morning after a fantastic half term getaway. The weather has been mixed but it hasn't stopped us enjoying ourselves. We used Hunters lodge as a base to explore North Cornwall - Bude, Rock, Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Trebarwith Strand......... So many places to go. Myself, my husband, 2 kids (ages 12 & 14) and our Labradoodle Max. The cottage is just beautiful, the kitchen is huge, the bathroom is luxurious and the lounge & bedrooms were perfect for us all. Plenty of hot water and a lovely warm cottage. I would highly recommend Hunters Lodge. We will be back :)
