First the positives, superb location, comfortable beds , well laid out modern kitchen.
The down side, definitely not suitable for the elderly or very young, the steps up to the garden are extremely steep with a gap in the fence that sits on the high wall that a child ( or dog) could easily access. Its almost impossible to have a shower in the bathroom without water escaping onto the floor, the ground floor shower has a curtain shower within the cubicle to stop the door from leaking. The 2nd twin bedroom is basically a children's bedroom with small wardrobe and children's hangers. there is only parking for one vehicle, there is street parking but this is very busy with day visitors to the area.
If this accommodation was in a less wonderful location then it would be hard pushed to get near the tariffs that are asked for
The cottage is lovely- well equipped and comfortable and in a superb location- this was our third visit and I am sure we will be back
We stayed at Tamarisk 8 years ago & thought it was great then, after a long time away we returned & it’s even better. Great attention to detail, everything you might need is there. Spotlessly clean, all furnishings, linen, furniture etc excellent quality. One tip, check tide times to get the best access to beach & breakwater, & if you fancy wild swimming check out St. Thomas’ pool at the end of the Breakwater, next time I’m taking a wetsuit! A fabulous place, would love to live somewhere like Tamarisk.
Spacious family house. Open kitchen/diner creates a social space. Comfy beds, good bathrooms, lots of hot water when we needed it. Well equipped kitchen with washer/dryer. Breakwater Holidays were very professional and easy to deal with. Nice welcome pack on our arrival.
On arrival your met with a very nice looking house. It's clean, comfy and the decoration is wonderful. Could actually live in it, felt like home from home.
Flowers, wine and cake all left for your enjoyment which is a lovely touch
Beach clean and so close great for children. The local pub sells amazing food and everyone very friendly. One week is just not enough.
Have just come back from a two week stay at this beautiful house which I cannot fault at all! The location is superb; to the left a two minute walk to the beach and to the right a five minute walk to the Town. The house itself is incredibly comfortable and just makes you relax. The lounge has two very comfortable sofas and all soft furnishings are tasteful and beautiful. The kitchen has everything you could want with endless cups, mugs, plates, utensils and the obligatory dishwasher and washer/dryer. The main bedroom overlooks the canal and walk-way to the beach and has a very comfortable chair in the window - perfect to relax in and watch the world go by. Beds in all rooms were comfortable and again the soft furnishings were fab. You really got the impression that a lot of money had been spent in getting this house up to a very high standard to rent out (although if I owned it, I would live in it full time!). On arrival, the house was sparkingly clean and there was a beautiful lemon drizzle cake, pint of milk, selection of teas/coffees, bottle of wine and lovely vase of flowers to greet us. As a result of the great time we had in Tamarisk, we have booked a further three weeks next year and can't wait to go back! Thank you for letting us stay there <3
This was the second year we stayed at Tamarisk and we absolutely love it. The house has got everything you could wish for in a holiday home. The sitting room is comfortable and the gas fire makes it very cozy on a cold day. The kitchen is perfect for a family. The children love their own rooms and the wifi for their iPads is a necessity nowadays. The house is located near the beach and close to town. Perfect for walks, building sand castles and quick pint at the local pub. We will definitely stay here again.
