Would not stay here again, the first time there were animal droppings in the kitchen and on the table, made the mistake several years after to return assuming it would be ok, we were sharing the chalet with ants, management sorted it by a trail of ant powder all over the kitchen, needless to stay we never ate there.
As for the bed, it was extremely hard, that's just personal preference, but I was bitten, there were two tiny holes in my stomach ,enough for there to be blood and I wore a nightie.

Try sunrise B&B, I was there previous , although it works out more expensive it is deffinately worth it.

I am sorry this lady felt the need to give us a negative review. I am afraid the "animal droppings" incident was years ago and before we owned the site.
Several years later we have worked very hard to improve the quality of our site, but as we said at the time we are set in 13 acres of countryside, so yes, the odd spider / fly / ant manages to get in!! We dealt with the few ants immediately, and no other complaint or comment regarding this or any other issue was brought to our attention.
We always aim to please our customers and are always happy to correspond with them personally to resolve any issues, rather than find out later through a review site where it is usually too late to do anything about it.

Just returned early from a weeks break here. We had an Oceanside Bungalow (No.76). We thought we'd pay for the best accomodation as it was our first family holiday - but the got the holiday from hell and even checked out early!! Initial impressions were ok, but it soon started to go down hill. Stained bed sheets, blood on one of the duvet covers they did up for our child (Thankfully we took our own travel cot & sheets!). Our double bed, bowed in the middle. Toe nail cuttings next to our bed, light switches that you had to press a few times to turn off. Struggled to lock our bungalow door once inside. Hot water was useless - could only get a luke warm puddle for our One year old's bath despite leaving the water heater on all day. Double glazed yet the curtains blew in the wind with all the windows and vents shut. It was freeeeezing, yet mid sept and 16-20 degrees outside! It was warmer outside than in. All is done to get you to spend on electric meter - electric heaters (2) shower, oven, water heater etc.
Then the holiday was totally ruined by the poor management's hostility not hospitality. We went in to ask if the very cold indoor swimming pool could be warmed up at all, as our baby daughter screamed, it was like an ice bath.. Only to be confronted with a horrible attitude by the manageress and then also manager, who told us sternly "It's NOT cold" and telling us it's not a pool for babies, (despite having a baby pool) and that it was for people over 12 years old. There was no compassion whatsoever, just extremely defensive and rude, which really upset me. They totally ruined our holiday and consequently we didn't step inside their shop or bar again- their loss.

We just spent 4 nights at Widemouth Bay Holiday Village and would highly recommend it. We had an oceanside bungalow, so had unbelievable views. The acommmodation was a little dated (pink bathroom anyone?!) but really well looked after and spotlessly clean - something reflected around the whole park.

The site was great, the entertainment cheesy, and tremendous on site facilities. Really good value food and drink in the bar (£5 bar meals) so impossible to fault. Will definitely re-book and recommend.

Room Tip: Pay the premium for an Oceanside Bungalow. The view and the sunsets are incredible.

Had a week's trip here in August. We were a little worried that the place would be noisy, but it wasn't. The facilities were great, the indoor swimming pool ideal, and the view, which we could see from our chalet, really beautiful with sunsets to die for. The kids loved the freedom to run around and it all felt very safe.

Room Tip: A little tip - if you're renting a chalet, check a site map, because some of the chalets are ove...

We recently had a short break here. It was very quiet (there is entertaninment during the season) and the views from the site were great.
The chalets are a bit dated but well maintained and updated,e.g. we had double glazing. The staff were great, e.g we had a problem with a gutter and they came out and mended it straight away in the pouring rain.

We had the cheapest chalet and it was fine, very good value for money.

Would we go back - you bet!
