We stayed here for one night whilst walking the coast path. The farm is a really lovely old building that has been restored over many years and furnished in a way that has kept its charm. It still has modern convieniences (good en suite), but it has a real old-fashioned feel about it, and that also includes the service - which was polite, but not always accomodating. I would say they were better in person than over the phone.

We didn't actually stay here in the end because of a mix up in our booking which was our fault. However, I felt compelled to write to warn other travellers of just how unpleasant and rude the couple running the hotel were (the restaurant is run separately). My mother in law, who'd booked the stay for us, rang and apologised for the mistake in our booking (the date had already passed) whereupon the owner was exceptionally rude to her and put the phone down on her. My husband rang back and was also subjected to the same kind of deeply unpleasant attitude and also had the phone put down on him.

We have no expectation of getting our deposit back but we have asked for a refund of the rest of our money (which we had paid up front) which they have refused. We now find ourselves having to go down more formal routes to try and get this back.

We firmly believe that there are ways and means of dealing with these kind of issues, with courtesy and understanding. We have found Trevigue to be sorely wanting in both.
