We have visited this campsite several times before so we knew what to expect.
We arrived on the Friday evening of half term - not realising it was half term when we booked! Group of 3 couples (all adults) and were panicking it would be over whelmed with children but we were pleasantly surprised. Our friends had arrived first and found a beautiful spot down to the right side overlooking the field by the 2nd toilet block. Stunning. The clientèle of the campsite is definitely better than other places we have been. Everyone respecting others.

Positives
Beautiful area, camping in the forest, no assigned camping by ugly white lines and designated space where you are scared to go over the white line! Horses roam freely, and easy access into the forest for cycling. Brockenhurst a short drive/cycle away and we walked back one night after a meal.

Negatives
The queues for the showers are ridiculous. They must be able to add another shower block. Even the mens had a queue of 5 people - unheard of or so I thought! The shower button in one cubicle stayed on for literally 5 seconds before turning off which is a pain. A few of the taps weren't working.

An enjoyable stay though and will return for sure. Would be nice if they gave a discount to returning customers.

This was the second time we have stayed, arrived on the Thursday for a long weekend over the bank holiday. The toilets and showers are always kept very clean has all the amenities we require. Had dogs with us and is a good sight for them also. Everyone is so friendly and sleeping in the woods is an experience in itself, just a bit messy when it rains as takes a long time to dry out.

Room Tip: Arrive as early as possible as it gets very busy quickly.

I first stayed at Hollands wood years ago, and my trip last weekend will be the last I think. For the price of this campsite compared to others, the facilities are just not up to scratch: Locks missing off doors, some taps broken, toilet paper and soap hardly ever refilled, hairdryer that you have to pay for not working, no shower curtains to stop stuff getting wet whilst in the shower, no shelves in the shower area, and overall just not very clean. It's a real shame as the location is brilliant, and we love camping amongst the trees and not in a measured out pitch, but they need a facilities refit before we go back.
The other annoying thing is the dog wash, great idea, but you pay £20 deposit for the key, then have to walk to nearly the other end of campsite to use it then walk back to reception to return the key within the hour. This is not the best solution for guests!

Found the site on line. Location was ideal for exploring the new forest. Arrived Saturday of bank holiday. Given the rain on Friday night we were given the option of driving around the site before deciding if we wanted to stay. Alternative dates could be arranged or a full refund if we didn't want to stay. We did stay and had fab 3 days. Our little girl loved being so close to the ponies and the cows. Facilities excellent and plenty of them. Didn't notice the road noise and we were camped the road side. Definitely coming back.

We stayed at Hollands Wood Campsite for the Bank holiday weekend, and enjoyed every moment of our time there. There is a large field next to the site with lots of wild horses, Shetland ponies, and Cows.
Unfortunately, the site was quite waterlogged, and we arrived quite late on the Saturday so was quite tricky to find a good spot to pitch the tent.
All facilities were very clean, and showers were lovely and hot.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hollands Wood, and the only reason for the 4 out of 5 was the waterlogged areas.
Will definitely be back again soon!

Really nice and clean campsite with excellent and friendly staff. Pros are area and location with lots of wild friendly horses and cows that browse through and clean facilities. Cons pricey and shop only sells milk. If you want quiet quality camping go here, the town has lovely restaurants. We loved it here.

I have stayed at Hollands Wood twice now and each time had a fantastic trip.

Positives:
The staff are really friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us.
The gate is open until 10.30pm so it is possible to get there after work on a Friday without leaving early (go pitch and check in the next morning).
Site is a great mix between being beautiful, natural and forest-ey but also has nice facilities.
There are three shower and toilet blacks with separate washing up areas. There are loads of toilets and sinks, and 5 showers in each block. I never had to queue for a shower but I imagine you might if you try and shower on a bank holiday Saturday morning at 8am or something. The facilities are kept really clean and well stocked with toilet paper and handwash.
You can pitch where you want.
You are allowed BBQs as long as they are raised off the ground.
New Forest ponies wander round the site.
Reception sells a few useful things like maps of the local area.
The location is a perfect base to explore the whole of the New Forest from, in fact one of the cycle ways starts at the North end of the campsite.

Negatives
You can hear the road a little (but you can hear a road EVERYWHERE in the New Forest it seems!).
Some pitches are quite a long way from the shower and toilet blocks.

Room Tip: Pitches on the North East side of the site are the furthest away from the road.
