Fast friendly service and good food. Allowed our dog to join us and made sure our 1 year was looked after.

We had looked forward to our meal at the Snakecatcher, having heard great things. But the service was poor - we waited almost an hour for 2 cheeseburgers and a starter dish. To be told that this was because they were busy did not go down well, as the people on the next table were served before us, even though they came in much later than us!!!

Also, we thought that the prices were higher than was necessary.

Having said all that, the burgers were tasty!

Not sure I would go there again though. :o(

We found Brockenhurst and were hungry. The Forresters car park was small and full so we came here and glad we did. The 4 of us had the Snakecatcher Burger, Scampi, stone cooked Sirloin and a stone cooked Mixed Grill. All meals were good but the stone cooked meats, chips and service just excellent. The beers (real ales) were so so but palatable. It seems that this pub pleases all as there is a section for drinking, section for large groups and a section for more intimate occasions. They welcomed us with a baby and a dog and we left with a bill under £70 including 4 drinks.

If you're in Brockenhurst and fancy a hearty bit of pub grub, this is your best bet. The food is very tasty and there's a good selection available. We had the venison pie and venison sausages and mash which were both delicious and hit the spot! The vegetables generally needed to be cooked slightly longer (steamed veg but also the onions on the venison sausages) but other than that it was great.

We popped in here for lunch on a hot day and sat out in the garden. It was a very pleasant relaxed atmosphere in the pub and the bar staff were helpful and friendly. The time we spent was insufficient to really get a true idea of the quality of this pub but what we ate was tasty and fresh. The menu looked interesting and one that made me want to come back and try it if we were in the area again. It appears to be smaller than some others in the area but I and my family enjoyed our lunch there.
