Lovely b&B, you let your self in with a key code, finding the room was a bit hard as was provided with the name of the room but the rooms had no names. Free wifi, nice bed and a roll-top bath, complimentary cakes. Breakfast was good but at a communal table, forcing either stilted conversation or awkward silences, why to B&B owners think that people want to talk to other people they don't know? I am happy to talk to people but they were non-communicative event to each other so I read the paper on my tablet instead (I know it's rude but hey, it's better than trying to make small talk). I would recommend this one.

Thank you for your revie
Not rude at all. You are in a home not a hotel and if you want to read the paper at breakfast so you should. I like a big table because that is what I have in my house and its good to give people the opportunity to chat about where to go and what to see. I also think that when you are away its nice to chat to other people in the morning.

Loved this b&b-a lot of history in the surrounding area, quaint village setting.
There were lovely scones and cake on our arrival-which was a lovely thought. The breakfast was lovely with homemade fare. The bedroom & bathroom were comfy and the staff were real helpful. Would certainly recommend.

We hired out the house for a hen party weekend. Tracy was most helpful, advising us on places to eat and things to do and unfazed by the size of the party! She happily responded to all emails/texts promptly and we always felt she was on hand to assist if the need arose.
The rooms were clean, lovely bed linen and there were plenty of bathrooms so no queues!
Free WIFI, tea& coffee on tap and melt in your mouth homemade biscuits made it fell personal and special.
Located by a railway expect a few noisy interruptions but this is outweighed by the positives....next door to a cafe with the best ice cream Ive ever tasted (and Ive had a few!) shop, cafe and restaurant opposite. 2 Spa facilities within a couple of miles. We walked to Le Blaireau restaurant for an evening meal but there were 2 pubs also within walking distance that looked fab.
We went canoeing, half an hour away with New forest activities and on the sunday we walked to the secret garden for afternoon tea (gorgeous venue, nice food, sadly appalling service)

Three of stayed in the Blacksmith's House. We chose this due to the promise of pancakes for breakfast and supplies left out for afternoon tea. We were not disappointed, though the pancakes looked more like 'drop scones' to me, but were very, very tasty. Our room was lovely. Everything was clean. The highlight of the stay was breakfast. Plenty of selection, cereals, freshly cooked pancakes/scones, fresh bread to eat and to make sandwiches with. A lovely touch to provide cling-film to wrap sandwiches in. Plenty of tea and coffee, and all accompanied with lots of good advice of what to see from Lilly. Lilly, we took all your advice and everywhere you recommended was 'spot on', thank you. Brockenhurst is quieter than Lyndhurst and for that reason when we return it will be to Brockenhurst and The Blacksmith's House. Thank you to Tracey and Lilly.

Room Tip: Our room was lovely, at the back of the house. Our friend had the single room and this did not have...

Me, my husband and our 16 year old spent a lovely weekend at The Blacksmith's House. We had booked a family room but Tracy rang me earlier in the day to say that as her single room was vacant, our son could have that instead which of course he loved!! I loved the idea of the door code - haven't come across it before but makes a lot of sense. There were scones and Bara Brith waiting for us on our arrival, which were delicious. Nice also to have a fridge for the guests to use. Both rooms were clean, cosy and comfortable. We all apparently slept through a thunderstorm on our first night!! On the second night, the local pubs were showing the first England World Cup game so we did get some noise from them but in a way it added to the holiday mood and wasn't much of a problem. We are all football fans anyway!! Breakfast was plentiful and made a nice change from the usual cooked - Rhys and I loved the pancakes and golden syrup!

Although we packed a lot into our short stay we came home feeling as if we had had a longer holiday. Thank you Tracy for all your help in arranging the weekend and for your kindness whilst we stayed with you.

You cant go wrong with a stay at this well kept b&b, room was spotless and cleaned daily. Nice breakfast with choices from salmon to pancakes (had both yum) and is idealy situated for access to the new forest and local villages plus just 10 mins from Beaulieu car museum. We loved our stay and tracy our host was most accommodating. We will stay again many thanks tracy for making us welcome.
Debra & Trevor.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear would naturally be quieter
