I found this B&B by a web search and found booking acommodation very easy. The afternoon tea laid out on arrival was very welcoming and delicious. I spent a very comfortable night there, (Cat and Fiddle room) slept soundly followed by an excellent shower. The breakfast was a welcome chnage from the usual fry up and the freshly prepared pancakes wonderful. I ate at the Snakecatcher that evening which i also recommend. A clean comfortable B&B which I recommend.

After a disastrous stay at Knightwood Lodge the day before we fell upon this by chance as we love Brockenhurst we decided to go there for lunch so glad we did as we were trying to decide whether to try and find somewhere else to stay for the night or go home! we called the number on the sign outside to find that there was 1 room left so we decided to take it and got a little discount too!, Tracy was great as she was at a wedding and gave us the code to the front door so we could off load our things and have a nice cup of tea and some home made scones (which were amazing), the room was lovely a roll top bath with candles, champagne flutes and some lovely smelling soap it really did make a change to walk in somewhere and feel right at home, we had a flat screen tv with freeview, we also had home made biscuits to die for, we also had fresh milk that was in a flask which makes a big difference!, breakfast made a real change from the smell of cooked bacon and eggs (best smell ever) tho, there was so much to choose from that you didn't really need it and you can have as much as you want including home made scones and pancakes! so many different types of bread too and as much tea and coffe as you wanted, the other thing was we wasn't rushed at all it was really chilled and Tracy is a good host very easy to talk too, this is a nice place to stay and very central to all the New Forest.

The B&B is very close to a busy/noisy road. The matress was very soft, folded in the middle and the springs squeaked with any little movement. There were loads of curly black hairs in the shower. Be warned that the 'breakfast' part of bed and breakfast does not include a cooked breakfast like most b&bs and that if you want a cooked breakfast, it's an additional charge.

On a positive note, the lady that prepared breakfast each morning was very friendly and the breakfast that was provided was very nice.

We stayed here for three nights over half-term. Met three women there - Tracey, Sam and Paula - all very friendly and helpful. Constantly invited to help ourselves to cakes, make sandwiches for lunch etc. Our room was the Cat and Fiddle. Very comfy and supplied with tea, coffee and homemade biscuits.14 year old son delighted to find free Wi-Fi and even a computer downstairs for guests to use. Some noise at night from road, railway and nearby pub so needed to keep the windows closed (double glazed so that sorted noise issue). Very handy for train, bike hire, shops and pubs. We didn't have a car with us and found it really easy to get around. Ate at The Snakecatcher which is 50 yards from the B & B. They were short staffed in the kitchen which caused problems but the food was good when it arrived. The Blacksmith's was a really welcoming, stress-free place to stay and we hope to return soon.

I stayed here with four friends for one nights to attend a friend's wedding. The positive reviews of this B&B, together with its central location, swayed us to choose it, and we were not disappointed. This B&B is only a couple of minutes from the railway station and is but a short walk from most of the attractions (shops, ghotels, pubs, cycle hire, etc) in the town.

There is also parking space available at the B&B (we had no difficulties with three cars, but I wouldnt recommend bringing any more vehicles than this!)

From booking through to departure, no complaints whatsoever- everything was done to a very high standard, be it the quality of the rooms, or the excellent breakfast. Very friendly owner/proprietor as well.

If I were staying in Brockenhurst again, this would be my first recommendation. Good work!

Stayed here with our 1 year old for one night. Friendly welcome, homemade cake, tea and and toast available in the dining room when we arrived. Everything very clean and in good, fresh condition. Fresh milk (for tea / coffee) available in a thermos flask in your room. Decor not chinzy (as often is the case in this kind of place!) but not wow either. Chose it as it was the first B&B I could find in the New Forest on Tripadvior which did not have a "no children" rule! And our toddler certainly didn't phase the staff. Computer available in the dining room if you wanted to use the internet. Breakfast fine, including freshly made scotch pancakes. Would stay here again.

As part of our trip we planned a 5 day stay in the New Forest and what a great place to stay. Tracey and Sam made us feel at home in this great house, we loved the furniture and the books, we were treated as visitors not as paying guests. It was handy for the trains to London, and we could walk into the Forest and see the deer, pigs and ponies.
The food is amazing, ham, swiss and english cheese, smoked salmon, eggs, cereals. We found it hard to believe when we were invited to make sandwiches for lunch and of course with Tracey's afternoon cakes and lovely home made biscuits in the room it is more than a B+B . 3 pubs in walking distance serving great food at decent prices and cask beer! We were so pleased with our stay. This is the place to book for a great time
