By sheer luck I stumbled across Daisybank cottage in Sway the New Forest and struck absolute gold when choosing this boutique bed and breakfast. Daisy bank is excellent, the extra touches down to the boiled egg knitted covers and tea cosies are fantastic. From the moment you step foot in to the cottage you become part of the fabulous family that run the establishment. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotless. The breakfasts are super, consisting of all local produce down to the eggs produced in the hen pen in the garden out back. Ciaran,Cheryl and family are very generous with sharing their home and cannot do enough to make your stay at Daisybank the best - thank you. We will certainly be back.

We had a great stay at Daisybank. The room was spotless and very comfortable. I liked all the extra touches as they really make the difference - fresh milk in the room's mini fridge, cupcakes and a chocolate each on arrival, bathrobes, a coffee machine and bottled water. The DVD library has a modern and varied selection for when we just wanted to relax in the room. Breakfast was delicious, I had both the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and the pancakes and portion sizes were just right to set you up for the day without feeling too full. My only gripe was the lack of bath salts or bubble bath, given that the bath was a big feature of the room, although we didn't ask and I get the impression Ciaran would have found some for us! He was helpful with plans for the day and recommending restaurants, lending us a discount card for the bike hire.

We stayed at Daisybank because of the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor, and were not disappointed. The room was large and comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and the location too. Would recommend eating at Hartnett Holder & Co and The Pig nearby. Ciaran and Cheryl were very considerate hosts, lending us a parking permit for the area and giving us several recommendations. We would certainly stay again if in the area.

Daisybank has received some great reviews here and they deserve every bit of praise. My husband and I have been lucky enough to stay in some fantastic places this year and Daisybank ranks very highly-including against some large luxe hotels.

We wanted a long weekend to relax and recharge. The garden suite was perfectly suited to that- a great bed, lovely window seat and an incredible shower and bath.

Aside from the friendly hosts, great breakfast and brilliant knowledge of the local area, what really impressed us was the styling of the rooms and the extra touches. Little details (homemade cupcakes on arrival, fresh milk, organic products, Hunter wellies to borrow, Cath Kidston crockery... I could go on...) all added up for a really great stay.

It is the first time I have reviewed accommodation on Trip Advisor which is indicative of how much we enjoyed our stay. Ciaran and Cheryl take so much pride in their lovely place and ensure great atmosphere for their guests. We hope to visit again soon.

Just back from an excellent stay in Daisybank Cottage. The room was spotlessly clean. There were some really nice touches, fresh milk and bottled water in your own fridge, a chose of teas and coffees, slippers, dressing gown, hot water bottle, ear plugs, loads of hangers in the wardrobe, etc. The breakfast was substantial and freshly cooked. Cheryl and Ciaran made us feel really welcome, we were provided with a parking clock for free parking in the forest, and a discount card for eating out. We were recommended some local restaurants, which were all excellent. We would highly recommend this B&B to all.

The cottage is a well renovated bungalow with 4 rooms en suite (called suites)
They are reasonably well furnished, although lighting poor and not energy efficient and are moderate in size - about 14 feet by 11 although the excellent website photos seem to enlarge them somewhat! They were not spotless with some dust and fingermarks evident.
The ones at the front suffer from some minor road noise early am and the ones at the rear are within 90yards of the railway so take your pick.
The hosts are most welcoming and efficient to the degree of asking for your breakfast order before you even have had dinner the night before and at a specified time which may not suit many who may be on holiday - but clearly suits the hosts.
The bathrooms are excellent and there are plenty of towels, hot water etc.
22" TV with DVD and radio and coffee maker with fridge and milk with a welcome Daisy cake on arrival and two chocolates.
There was one slight problem in that the linen did not smell very fresh, although clean, and one would guess that it had either been dried indoors or very quick washed. This also could be due to the room being unused for some time in which case it should not me made up.
The breakfast were adequate and plentiful with some items either pre-cooked or re-heated.
The parking at the rear was OK but the walk to the house was a bit muddy and slippery on wooden stepping stones and should be upgraded for safety reasons.
The establishment drops one mark based on the comments made and with a little more attention to minor decorating issues and the items mentioned they would be worthy of a top 5 rating.
The prices are at the top of the range for this area but considered reasonable value.

Thank you for your review and rating.
We very much welcome feedback and are passionate about ensuring our guests have the best possible experience at Daisybank. However we are surprised with the issues raised especially considering the positive comments you made in the visitors book in your room prior to your departure.

The cottage has 5 suites on the ground floor and 3 private rooms upstairs. The room you stayed in was the Brightiff suite. We do not understand your comments on the quality of sleep and décor in our other suites which you did not have access to.
The Brightiff suite measures 18 feet by 16 feet (excluding the bathroom) approximately twice the size as commented.
All our website photographs were taken by a professional photographer and have in no way been enlarged or enhanced.
The room was cleaned after a guest’s departure two days prior to your arrival and cleaned and checked on the day of your arrival.
Our linen which is 100% cotton is sent to an external laundry to ensure its quality and inspected before it is used. Following your review we have discussed your observations with the laundry to establish that all agreed procedures continue to be followed.
At Daisybank we use low energy bulbs wherever possible and have recently been commended on our green credentials in the New Forest Business Awards.
We have never preheated or precooked any of our food and it is for this reason that we ask our guests if they would mind completing a breakfast request the previous evening. If guests prefer otherwise we are more than happy to take an order in the morning. However as we pride ourselves on cooking everything fresh and with main dishes taking approximately 30 minutes to cook in the AGA this system tends to suit our guests.
For entrance to the cottage all our guests are provided with keys to the front door which is the entrance we recommend them to use rather than at the rear particularly when the weather is wet.

Thank you for staying with us.

Daisybank Cottage definitely deserves 5 stars. There are lots of little touches which add up to this: the i-pod dock and nespresso coffee machine in each room (fresh milk, water and chocolate provided daily); the luxurious bedding; the delicious breakfasts; homemade cupcakes on arrival; bespoke artwork etc. However, it is the people which make Daisybank Cottage truly special. Nothing was too much trouble. For example: on arriving back unannounced with fish and chips, the table was laid, the fish and chips were plated onto warmed plates and we were even offered tomatoes and bottled water; I was given cream for a wasp sting; many helpful suggestions on where to visit/eat; Cheryl offered to drive us to the railway station; and many more. We were shown such kindness and thoughtfulness. Leaving at the end of our 5 night stay felt like saying goodbye to lifelong friends.

Ps have just read a previous review. Our personal experience was that everything, including the kitchen, was spotlessly clean. You choose your breakfast the night before by leaving your order in a flowerpot outside your room and it is then cooked ready to your exact specification. One day we were unsure of our plans and didn’t want to be constrained by the need to order breakfast. We asked Joanna if we could order at a different time and she was more than happy to oblige.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Courtyard suite which has the bonus of it's own private courtyard. Other rooms...
