“Lovely b&b, very welcoming hosts”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

We just stayed here for one night as a group of friends, and had the three downstairs rooms. The welcome was super, Pauline walked us round everything and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. The bedrooms were a good size, very clean, well appointed and very homely. The bed was very comfortable, the only downside is that the curtains don't block out the early morning light, so we awoke rather early.
The extra touches that we didn't know about before we went were the utility room for use of guests only, and the summer house, which was great to sit and have a few drinks before we went out (after chilling the wine in the fridge in utility room). I liked that there was direct access to each room via a patio door, so you didn't feel as if you were likely to disturb anyone else when coming in.
The breakfast was good and very filling, with high quality produce. Both Pauline and Mike are very friendly and attentive, and they would bend over backwards to ensure you have a pleasant stay.

Hi Hayley. Thank-you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review of Meerut. It was a pleasure having you all to stay with us at the week-end and we really appreciate your suggestion of black-out curtain linings to block out the early morning sunlight and prevent guests waking too early. The curtain linings are thick but swapping them for black-out ones is not something we had thought of, or that anyone else has mentioned in almost four years of having our B. & B. What a great idea though - one we will certainly try to incorporate in our rooms before the summer.
Many thanks again.

We had a really lovely 2 night stay at Meerut in the Ash room. Pauline and Mike were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The B&B is in a central location in Brockenhurst, which is a lovely village with walking distance to everything. The house is really nice and there is a large, beautiful garden at the back.

The room was spotless, and the bed very very comfortable and a really good powerful shower. The facilities were amazing, there is everything you could possibly need - you have your own access to the room, and also to utilities room with a fridge/freezer, cutlery, and all other things you may need - like picnic blankets, all nicely labelled so easy to find. There was a lot of information in the welcome pack located in the room. It was very helpful to decide about our walks and which local restaurants we could eat in. The breakfast was really nice - plenty of choice and fresh good quality ingredients and really tasty.

Everything was just perfect, all spotless, clearly labelled, and basically I cannot imagine anything else you would need during your stay that wasn't already there. We will definitely stay there again when visiting New Forest. I would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Pauline and Mike.

Despite very windy weather and a power cut we felt at home in this lovely B&B. Pauline and Mike made us feel very welcome. An ideal location for exploring the forest and the local visitor attractions. Comfortable and cozy. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Just spent two nights at the Meerut as attending a friends wedding at Cary's Manor which is a five minute walk away. Stayed in the Maple room which is tucked round the corner so nice and private. Room was lovely with an incredibley comfy bed and ensuite. Hosts could not have been more accomodating offering to give us a lift up to the venue. They were busy this weekend but breakfast was on time and delicious. Also offered more toast tea etc which you dont always get. Nicely situated within five minutes from three pubs.We tried them all but our favourite for food and atmosphere was the Rose and Crown. All in all lovely stress free stay in a peaceful setting. Would love to stay in the summer as you have your own patio looking out on to the garden. Would definitely recommend. Thanks Pauline and Mike

We had a really lovely 3 night stay at Meerut in the Maple room. We booked online but Pauline kindly informed us of her offer during November the week before we arrived so we got our third night free with a bit of jiggling around with the booking (thanks Pauline!).

The B&B is tucked away but still in a central location in Brockenhurst - walking distance to everything. It is really peaceful though and there's a large garden and decking which would be lovely in the summer.

The room was spotlessly clean, the bed very very comfortable and a really good powerful shower. We slept like logs every night!

There was lots of info in the welcome pack to help us decide what to do, which bike rides to go on and which restaurants to eat at. Pauline also recommended a particular pub - The Snakecatcher- for our meal on the first evening and it was delicious and really reasonably priced.

The facilities are good at Meerut too - not only do you have your own access to the room and a private driveway but also a utility room with fridge/freezer and cutlery - which we used to make picnics throughout our stay. Pauline kindly gave us a key to lock our bikes away safely too, another little touch that made it a wonderful stay.

The breakfast was really delicious every day - plenty of choice and fresh good quality ingredients and really tasty.

We will definitely stay at Meerut next time we visit the New Forest - Pauline couldn't have done more to make us comfortable and ensure we had a pleasant stay - thank you.

Room Tip: Maple room had its own ensuite with shower and is tucked away right round the corner - it was great.

This B & B is just perfect for location. The rooms are very clean & comfortable. They offer a seperate kitchen for your own personal use & patio table just outside the bedroom door which is great to sit out last thing at night or with a coffee in the morning. The breakfast is lovely, perfectly cooked. The hosts Mike & Pauline can not do enough for you, very friendly & helpful. I would certainly recommend this place to anybody.

Room Tip: We had the Ash room which was perfect
