“Our second visit!”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

We returned to Meerut for an overnight stay enroute to the Isle of Wight
Such a friendly and accommodating B &B, with comfy beds, lovely peaceful garden to relax in, with pot of tea/coffee as soon as you arrive! Great breakfast too!
Extra provisions of milk, tea, coffee etc and bottled water available in the utility room, with more crockery/utensils if required.
We intend to come back next year and stay for longer to explore The New Forest by bus, and/or bike!

Room Tip: All rooms good, and leading directly out to garden, which is also the way in!

We stayed at Meerut for one night for a wedding recently and can honestly say it was probably the nicest B&B we've been to ! Mike and Pauline couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are comfortable and clean and they do a great breakfast ! Mike even dropped us at the wedding venue. Nothing was too much trouble ! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone wanting a 5 star stay in the New Forest- we will definitely be back !!

A quality and friendly B & B in the heart of the New Forest, thanks to Pauline and Mike who welcome you into their lovely home. The comfortable rooms lead onto their garden for 'your' use - it was so nice to relax outside drinking a glass of wine - they have a utility room with glasses/ crockery etc for you to use as well, including extra milk and bottled water in the fridge. There's even a gas BBQ if you want to cook up a feast! There are however a great selection of places to eat or take-away in Brockenhurst - and the menus are even in your room. If you want to explore the area, Pauline and Mike can help you out with all their local knowledge whether driving or cycling. Breakfast was scrummy and could have stayed chatting for ages. We'll definitely return to Meerut and stay longer next time.

I recently stayed at Meerut for one night as a solo guest and could not fault the welcome, service, standard of accommodation, breakfast, location etc! I was going to a wedding and Mike kindly gave me and other guests a lift to the venue. I would thoroughly recommend this B & B and very much hope to be able to return one day! Thank you SO much, Pauline and Mike.

If you are looking for a quality B&B from which to explore the New Forest, look no further than Meerut. We spent two nights here and were so impressed with the warm welcome, quality accommodation, lovely peaceful garden and scrumptious brekky. The facilities for guests are very good, plenty of parking and walking distance to the High Street shops etc. We will definitely return. Thank you Pauline and Mike.

A very professional and friendly B&B. We were warmly greeted by Pauline when we arrived for a one night stay last evening. We stayed in a comfortable and very clean room and had an excellent full English breakfast in the morning. In all, a very enjoyable experience. Thoroughly recommend.

Meerut is a very good B&B with welcoming, friendly, helpful hosts. Mike and Pauline try to cater for your every need and even make fresh milk and bottled water available in a fridge. They provide a lovely breakfast and keep the place spotless. Meerut is advertised as a B&B with 3 downstairs bedrooms and we were surprised to be asked if we would mind changing to an upstairs bedroom that was normally used by friends, family or former guests. We agreed to this request as Mike and Pauline wished to accommodate a couple who had mobility issues. Unfortunately, we did not realise that there were two adjacent upstairs rooms being used by guests and the other was occupied by a family of four including two children. The drawback was that we could hear every sound through the wall.
We would not hesitate to recommend Meerut but would not consider an upstairs room.

Room Tip: Avoid upstairs rooms. You can hear too much through the wall.

Pauline M, Owner at Meerut, responded to this review, 15 July 2014
Thank-you very much for taking the time to review Meerut, our family-run bed and breakfast. We usually prefer to thank guests personally for their reviews (when we can identify them), but would like to address a few points here.
Meerut has three ground floor rooms available to guests and the upstairs rooms are private and used by us, our family and friends. All of our rooms are furnished similarly with pine furniture, and on the rare occasion that we need to close a downstairs room (one was closed for three weeks once), the guests concerned are offered the chance to be re-located upstairs - on every occasion in the past guests have been perfectly happy with their stay. In this particular instance we asked if you would mind moving to an upstairs room, which you kindly agreed to, in order for a friend who is unable to climb stairs, to use your downstairs room.
The main issue here is the noise levels which we all experienced for two hours on the early evening of your first night, which you yourself described as ‘caused by two over-excited children’, who were due to be bridesmaids the following day. The family were asked to be much quieter when they returned to Meerut that evening. We have already written to apologise for the disturbance you incurred, and had you been staying longer, we would without doubt have moved you to a different room. As it was, you set off early for the wedding the next morning, returned later that evening, and were heading home the next day.
We look forward to welcoming you back here in the future, to experience Meerut as it usually is - a peaceful haven – one that our guests so appreciate. You will be able to enjoy our great location in three-quarters of an acre; just a 5 minute stroll from the open forest (and train station), and within less than a 10 minute walk of over twenty places to eat.
Our sincere apologies once more.
Pauline and Mike Mueller
