“Comfortable with excellent service”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

This was our first stay at Carey's Manor - the first of many. Room was smaller than we had expected, but spotless and comfortable, bathroom extractor noisy (17) - but apart from that - we were happy with the accommodation in the main manor house on the top floor (stairs a bit of struggle for me). Excellent location for touring.

Manor Restaurant and French Bistro were good, Thai restaurant was truly excellent and would highly recommend a lunch or evening meal at the Zen restaurant.

Senspa experience was exceptional. Hydrotherapy and spa facilities were wonderful and very therapeutic - weekends busy - mid week seemed quieter of course.

All hotel and Spa staff were attentive, helpful and keen to offer advice on local area and best use of the hotel and all the facilities. We will visit again.

Room Tip: Check the extractor fan and A/Con noise.

High quality accomodation, food and service makes a stay here value for money. The thing we appreciated the most though was the efforts made by the staff to ensure we got maximum value from the facilities and the surrounding area. A tour of the spa area, information about bike hire, advice on things to do and courtesy transport to and from the station made us feel we were treated as individuals. You simply have to hire a bike and explore the forest if you can! We will be back.

Having stayed at the sister hotel, The Montague Arms, I was looking forward to staying at the Carey's Manor. While staff and food were good, the room was a real disappointment. The bathroom needs a serious upgrade, from the naff plastic basin to the fact the extractor fan did not work.

You rock up to this amazingly posh Manor and you think wow! I was worried I would feel a little out of place inside but the whole hotel had such a relaxed vibe which put us right at ease! I could not be more impressed with the hotel! The staff were lovely - friendly and very helpful! Our room was gorgeous! (Room 18 - right near the spa, so perfect for us) The spa was lovely - I would definitely recommend going mid-week as it was quite quiet which meant we pretty much had full use of what ever we wanted. The Zen Garden was awesome, their smoothies are to die for!! & the Le Blaireau restaurant ...delicious! I would totally recommend the steak! Id say well worth the money!

The only bad bit to an otherwise perfect stay was breakfast! We ordered room service, it was late and when it did arrive the scrambled eggs looked like orangey yellow mashed potato and according to my boyfriend his entire breakfast tasted like fish! We mentioned it at reception when checking out and they very kindly gave us some money off our total bill which was so lovely of them!

I would definitely come here again and have already recommended it to friends, family and work colleagues!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 18, it was HUGE! right near the spa so perfect for spa weekenders and the view fro...

Best hotel in the New Forest area.

Accommodation, food and drink excellent. The accommodation is first class whichever part of the Hotel you stay in, either the Manor or the Garden Wing. A good choice of restaurants including French, Asian and main hotel restaurant which is European fine dining and is truly magnificent food and drink.

Could not recommend the Hotel highly enough. Have been going there for 30 years after first spending our honeymoon there in 1984 and have returned as often as we can. The staff are wonderful and very friendly and helpful in all sections of the hotel.

From booking via email with a million requests (from me) Dawn in reservations put together a perfect passage for us. Our room was huge and comfortable, the beds were very comfortable. The Senspa was amazing. You relax the moment you enter, stay in your robe all day and relax. I was so relaxed i coudlnt decide which part of nothing I wanted to do next! The hotel staff from entering the hotel to leaving where so helpful, especially the cocktail waiter who made our very own dring. Senspa staff go out of their way to ensure you are happy and your needs are met. The treatments were indulgent and amazing. Spa facilities are really good. Only downside is that that overall the actual hotel (not Senspa) could probably do with a little touch up, they do have quite a few cobwebs here and there and the room decor is a little dated. With the Spa area there are only a few beds to lay next to the pool, no outside space to take in the sun if it appears and a few incidents with waitress staff however Senspa staff and the hotel staff dealt with these immediately. Overall with service, facilities and especially staff we had a brilliant time and would definately book again.

Room Tip: Explain what you want! we asked for more space if available and we got more space, it was a huge roo...

Really enjoyed this one night break. The staff at the hotel were very helpful attentive and polite. The room was great, spacious, clean and well equipped. Very comfortable bed with enough pillows. Lovely bathroom with plenty of soft fluffy towels.
We only used the inclusive leisure facilities and not the spa. The pool was a good size, the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi were great. There was not much space around the pool so loungers were limited, although we did have one each not all guests did. We ate in the French bistro. This was a casual dining experience, the Manor is more formal. The food was delicious, service was fantastic and overall we would recommend this restaurant. The breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. This hotel was really good value for money for a weekday, dinner bed and breakfast break. Definitely recommended.
