“Luxury weekend”
Reviewed 22 May 2013

From the moment we walked through the door, nothing was too much trouble. From Hannah on reception to Will, Nina and Sarah in the dining room, the service was excellent. The rooms were luxurious and very clean and comfortable. The spa was great and the list of treatments comprehensive.mall in all a fabulous way to spend a long weekend.

Room Tip: Try to get a forest room.

Cant praise this hotel and its staff enough, I have stayed in literally hundreds of hotels in the UK for business and pleasure and the novelty of staying in even good hotels had completely worn off, but this place is amazing! The staff could not have been more helpful, from the moment I rang to ask for information it was obvious this is a customer focused hotel, friendly, helpful, and understanding. Wanted a memorable experience for our 25th Wedding Anniversary with our 12 year old daughter ,and WOW was it memorable! The Spa was just blissful, they organised bike hire for me and our daughter ( which was great value for money), the food is sublime, the childrens menu should please any child, how ever fussy, and ALL the staff were so attentive. The location could not be better, a good distance up a drive (past the county showground) and from the hotel you are in the forest in a few minutes, deer roam past the windows and horses canter past the pool, and if you are lucky you might hear a cuckoo! Amazing place!

Room Tip: As the hotel stands alone up a drive surrounded by countryside and the forest ,its hard to see any o...

For a post New Forest Triathlon birthday treat for a friend, Steve, Lee and the team bent over backwards to make us all welcome. A lovely roast dinner, in the beautifully decorated back dining room, topped off with use of the amazing spa facilities. The dogs were well looked after too so they didn't feel left out! Prosecco never tasted as good as in the outside Jacuzzi, and the cream tea enjoyed whilst playing croquet on the lawn certainly topped it off for the kids. Thanks again to all the staff, and looking forward to our next visit.

Thank you for taking the time to write your lovely review. I'm so pleased that you all had a great time with us, and you enjoyed our lovely Sunday roast too. Great to see lots of fun and laughter in the garden whilst playing croquet and football, was lovely to see lots of smiles. Great to read that the kids had a great time too, and that your visit to the Spa went down well.....as well as the prosecco, you most certainly deserved it after doing a Triathlon! We hope that you will all be able to come back and see us again very soon.
Best wishes

What a truly fabulous place to visit. This was my second experience of New Park Manor, the first time being a weekend break with my hubby, this time we were 15 adults, 4 children, and 3 dogs! I cannot praise the staff enough. They were so attentive, helpful, friendly, and professional in every aspect of our stay. The children were made a fuss of, there were plenty of activities for them, and they never once complained of being bored!Their food choices were healthy and good quality, a welcome change from a lot of other hotels/restaurants. The dogs were also fussed, given plush dog beds, and allowed to roam the grounds in a safe environment.
Our Sunday roast dinners were just perfect, with lashings of gravy!
The cream tea was amazing on the croquet lawn in the late afternoon sunshine while the kids played on the trampoline and chilled on big bean bags.
We used the (very clean) spa facilities in the evening, enjoying champers whilst sitting in the outside hot tub. A perfect end to our weekend.
We cannot thank managers Steve and Lee enough for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable, and seeing to our every need.
This hotel is a 'must do' in the list of life!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased that you all had a brilliant time with us, including the pooches of course too! It was great fun to have you all here to celebrate your hubbies birthday, and good to see that you all loved our delicious Sunday roast before a spot of croquet on the lawn.....and what a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon it was too. Great to read that the kids loved their tea too, and that you got to sample our scrummy afternoon tea too.....it truly is delicious! I think you all managed to burn the calories off playing football and rounders in the garden though! We hope that you will be able to come back and see us again very soon. The outdoor pool will be open soon so you must all pop in for a splash and some lunch!
Best wishes

We've stayed at this hotel twice now and it really is a fabulous place. This is truly a great quality hotel for excellent food and brilliant service. The staff are lovely and make you feel as if you are part of a family. Both times we have been with our daughter who is now 2 1/2 and they have considered everything, even down to the bottle washing and sterilising service. The children facilities are excellent for all ages as this time we went with our nephew (8) as well and both children had plenty to do. The hotel is secure and the children have free reign and the staff are lovely with them. The resident dog, daisy, is lovely and extremely well behaved. We've stayed in the Forest rooms and these are great, very comfortable and have a TV in the bathroom, making the bath relaxation even better. This time we decided to go one better and stayed in the King Charles II room, with the super king 4 poster bed and views over the fields...beautiful! The spa facilities are lovely too, massages are a must and the pool and jacuzzi areas both indoors and out are great - especially with the added bonus of the bar and a glass or two! When you come here, you will spend money, but its worth it...We love this place and are saving our pennies to go back in September to have another lovely weekend.

My friend and I have just returned from a 2 night midweek break at New Park Manor, from the moment you step into reception you are greeted by the warm and friendly reception team (and of cause Daisy the resident whippet dog!) you start to feel totally relaxed.

We were shown to our rooms, I stayed in the Catherine of Braganza room, which was just amazing, it had views from every window, including the bathroom!, the bed was so comfortable with luxury goose & feather pillow and a mattress enhancer that you just melted into. The bathroom had a selection of Elemis products which i used throughout my stay. There was a very good high speed wi-fi signal in my room, which was very useful to research places to visit in the area.

We decided to eat in the restaurant on our first night, the food was superb, beautifully presented and very tasty, I had the fish cakes and cheesecake. The next morning we had an equally lovely breakfast, you had a choice of fruits, cereals etc. but I had the fully English breakfast.

In the afternoon I went to the spa to have a treatment, which was most relaxing, then went for a swim in the lovely pool with panoramic views, watching the horses and stags.

This was my first stay at this hotel and I understand it has just been totally refurbished, they have managed to achieve a blended mix of traditional and modern to perfection, it has a light and airy feel but still retains its character. The hotel is family and dog friendly, but has also managed to blend this was plenty of separated areas for young children, teenagers and couples to find a area for each to enjoy as we did as a couple of friends staying for a girly treat.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, thanks to Steve and his team and will defiantly be returning.

Thank you for taking the time to write your lovely review. It was an absolute pleasure to have you come and stay with us for a couple of 'girly' nights away. The hotel has been refurbished to reflect the needs of both family and those travelling without children and I'm so pleased that you found this to be the case. I'm really pleased that you loved the food and also made full use of our gorgeous spa and treatments, with great weather to boot too! As you rightly state, we have mixed the old and new when refurbishing the Manor side of the hotel and like yourself, our guests are loving what we have done. We hope that you will be able to come back and see us again very soon, and as you said when you left bring your family back with you too so they can enjoy the hotel and all of it's child friendly facilities.
Best wishes
Steve & the Team...and Daisy of course too who loved her cuddles with you!

We descended on New Park Manor (8 adults, 5 children) to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday.

Lovely location; supremely hospitable and efficient staff; wonderfully child friendly. Our family ranges from 18 months to 70 years and all of us were entertained and well looked after.

The hotel has been recently renovated and the interior is sumptuous yet relaxing.

A couple of slight negatives:
- those of us with children stayed in the Forest rooms, which are recommended for families - though are somewhat on the small side if you have 2 children. The country classic bedrooms are also quite small (for the price). However, Steve upgraded my parents to a beautiful 4-poster bedroom. It may be useful if they had more pictures of the bedrooms on their website so you had a better idea of the rooms.

- the food was quite mixed though generally good. We had a few incidents of meals arriving not as described in the menu. Two stand-out dishes on the menu are the fillet of beef and panacotta. Some of the other desserts could do with a bit more refining (roulade and treacle sponge).

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. It was such a pleasure to have you and your family come and stay with us to celebrate your dads birthday, and I'm so pleased that they enjoyed their upgraded room. Thank you for your feedback re a couple of the dishes, I will most certainly look into this, and please be rest assured that we are continually looking at our restaurant offerings and making the necessary changes required. I agree that the Forest rooms for 2 adults and 2 children can be a bit of a squeeze, which is also noted on our website, but like yourselves, there is so much to do in the hotel and around in the forest which keeps the children occupied and ready for a big nights sleep. Should you wish to return with your family, I would highly recommend one of our Manor Deluxe rooms which sleeps a family of four in the same room but is much larger than the Forest rooms, or try one of our new Family Suites where you have separate sleeping rooms for the parents and children, making sure you both get a great nights sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. We hope that you will all be able to come back and see us again very soon.
Best wishes
Steve & the Team.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to New Park Manor, a luxury family and dog friendly spa hotel in the New Forest. Relax in our spa, play croquet on the lawn, enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace or some family time in our gardens. New Park Manor offers the perfect destination for anyone wishing to explore and appreciate the unique mosaic of woodland, heathland and wetland that comprise the ancient landscape of the New Forest. The New Forest, Britain's most popular national park, was created by William the Conqueror in 1079 as a royal hunting area. In 1611, King Charles II chose New Park Manor as his favourite hunting lodge and his royal coat of arms is still displayed prominently above the fireplace in our award-winning Stag Restaurant. New Park Manor was carefully adapted for use as a country house hotel with 25 bedrooms and opened in 1970. Interesting details such as acorns and oak leaf patterned doors and original furniture and fireplaces can still be seen throughout the building. These commemorate the debt owed by King Charles to the oak tree which hid him from Cromwell's men on his escape to France in 1651. Today, New Park Manor is a beautiful, stylish country hotel, where the traditions of days gone by still live on and many original features can still be seen around the hotel. Bedrooms range from the splendor of our Muntjac our signature Family Suite to the contemporary style of our Forest rooms. Over recent years, our facilities have expanded to include a heated outdoor pool, croquet lawn, and our award-winning Spa which included a heated indoor pool and outdoor Canadian hot tub overlooking the New Forest. ... more   less
