We went for Saturday lunch and booking is essential.
The setting is very picturesque being within the New Forest. They have an amazing vegetable patch you can wander around and even head off with their forager into the woods to see how they select their local produce.
The vast majority of the produce is either grown by them or sourced locally, which is great for food miles and supporting local business.
The decor is gorgeous and has been done with a huge amount of detail. The dining room is like sitting in a very smart greenhouse, with herbs all around you and not just for show!
The menu is extensive and delicious. We tried the cracking and baby bbq ribs to start. Then we had clams with homemade pasta and a pot of prawns. All this was delicious and rounded off with some rice pudding!!
The service is first rate, with casual yet uniformed staff.
Only negative was some of the staff did not know the menu well enough, with such wonderful food they should taste it themselves!!
They have about 25 rooms and I can only imagine the decor and comfort would be of the same level.
