So, to start with, they allow multiple dogs which is important to us as we have 4, one of whom is disabled and so this cottage was absolutely ideal.
What a spot, quiet doesn't quite cover it, its silent and the pretty valley it sits atop is idyllic. Lots of bird watching opportunities and a lovely little hideaway next to the river.
Peter who lives at the end of the row and is the (kind of) caretaker of the 2 cottages is a fountain of knowledge about the local area and loves creating things from brass, so check out his garden!! He is a lovely and welcome addition to this beautiful little hideaway.
A good choice of shops are around 10-15 minutes away at Atlantic Village, and there are a few pubs in the locale, although none really within walking distance (well they are within walking distance is you're a keen walker).
The cottage itself is highly appointed, with fully working kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine (handy for coming back from a muddy walk or beach), Sky TV and WiFi (although you need to be in the conservatory to pick up the WiFi. The log burner is a great addition on a chilly winter (or summer) evening and the log store is plentiful so you'll never be out of fuel!
Mobile phone signal is an issue, however it is also a virtue not to be able to make or receive calls for a few days, just sit on the patio with a nice glass of red (which was waiting for us upon arrival - a lovely touch, thank you) and watch some yellow wagtails dancing around the valley - perfect.
