We are staying in Devon and the weather was terrible. Big Sheep is listed as an all weather attraction and I can confirm it is we had a great day , it would be more fun in the sun but there is plenty to do in the rain. The shows are excellent and the staff everywhere are warm and welcoming nothing is to much trouble. Would recommend this for any young family not so much for teenagers we had 5 to 10 year olds with us and it was perfect for them.

Morning Simon, I love your profile picture with the family and of course your lovely dog – hope you brought him with you on holiday! We offer kennels for our canine friends, complete with blanket, drinking bowl and some Scooby snacks!

Sorry the weather hasn’t been kinder to you during your holiday but thrilled to hear that you all enjoyed a great day out at The BIG Sheep. Whatever the weather rain NEVER stops play here as the majority of our hilarious shows, tractor ride, safari ride, the animal barn, home to piglets, goats, sheep, lambs, bunnies, chicks and adorable puppies and our massive indoor play area with a selection of great slides, imaginative soft play climbing areas, tumble towers, mazes and obstacles are all undercover!

Older children also love our awesome new coaster, splash zone, go-karts, interactive live combat zone, archery tag. We also offer climbing, mountain boarding and shooting at our adjacent Ultimate Adventure attraction for a nominal £1 cost.

We hope you took advantage of our £5 return offer and come back with your ‘flock’ for another day of fun, fun, fun….

Hope the weather picks up for the rest of your stay and you get to enjoy some of North Devon’s glorious beaches

Used our tesco vouchers to pay the bulk of the entrance fee so was even more of a bargain but would have been happy with the full charge after such a great day. I expected a bigger park on arrival but actually we didn't get everything done as we ran out of time so it was plenty big enough but not so big that we lost family members after a split. One of our family members has autism and this place was a perfect size of him, no sensory over loads, small queues if any and lots to keep his attention. Tons for our not so brave child to do too and free ale tasting for Dad so everyone was happy. The sheep racing was great and the winners prize of a mug went down a storm with our youngest family member. We got to bottle feed the lambs, feed the big sheep and a few other animals. The piglets and baby goats won our hearts over. So cute! You do have to wait an hour for the big one to open and two hours for the battle field to open but there were enough other things to do so it was fine. Recommend the duck trials, well worth a watch. The staff were all so genuine and cheerful, they clearly all love their jobs and nothing was too much. Vaughan stole the show with his jokes and crowd handling though. Managed to engage all the visitors from all ages. Food was good, great choices and fast service. Nowt fancy but that suits us just fine. Great selection for the children from the pick and mix lunch too, even jam sandwiches for our fussy eater. Bunch pillows big and small to cater for all ages and a drop slide in the indoor play area !!! Not been on one since I was about 8! Couldn't get the kids to have a go so I just went for it myself. Was BRILLIANT! All round great day out, even my not easily pleased husband said "that was much better than I expected!" Would return again and recommend to families.

Hello Victoria, wow! – what a wonderful review. It sounds like you all had a perfect day out with us and we’re delighted that you would recommend the BIG Sheep to other families. Not sure if you read our website prior to your visit but we do let families with autistic children into the park before we open so the child can familiarize themselves with the rides and attractions before the public arrive. This was a tip a friend of mine who has three autistic children gave me and it really seems to work. We also have ‘fast track’ passes for the rides and we are aware that some children with autism don’t particularly like queuing. At the BIG Sheep we will do all we can to cater for individual needs and enhance our guest’s experience.

Vaughan is fast becoming a bit of a star at The BIG Sheep and currently get lots and lots of lovely mentions on Trip Advisor – he is a lovely down to earth lad though and won’t let the praise go to his head.

Good on you for having a good on the drop slide, you’re my kind of fun parent! Lovely to hear that we also managed to please your ‘not so easily pleased husband.’ Fortunately we have something to entertain every age group and our brewery and FREE beer samples is normally a big hit with the dads.

Enjoy the rest of your summer holidays.

We bought the tickets online as it was cheaper to do so. We managed to find a deal whereby there was a toddlers event happening which worked out even cheaper. If we had found this attraction at the beginning of the holiday, we would have bought an annual pass as it rained the majority of the week we were in Westward Ho! But luckily it only rained occasionally while we were here. There were things to do indoors and outdoors and the staff were friendly. The soft play was small and had a drop zone area in it.

Hello Kim, many thanks for leaving such a lovely review, and special thanks for making it a five-star one! It’s always quite sad for us when the weather is inclement all week because we know that many of our guests save all year around for a lovely family holiday and holidays are always so much better in the sun!

Glad you all had fun though, despite the weather. Whatever the weather rain NEVER stops play here as the majority of our hilarious shows, tractor ride, safari ride, the animal barn, home to piglets, goats, sheep, lambs, bunnies, chicks and adorable puppies and our massive indoor play area with a selectin of great slides, imaginative soft play climbing areas, tumble towers, mazes and obstacles are all undercover!

Hope you come back with your ‘flock’ again for another visit at some point in the future and in the meantime, have a wonderful summer and let’ hope the weather improves.

My family had a wonderful day out here, the weather was drizzling on and off all day, even though it was wet, ALL the staff were professional, caring and funny! Vaughan was hilarious in the shows, even though it must be the same jokes twice a day, he gave the impression it was the first time for them all, Chloe, the tractor driver, seemed to pop up everywhere with her lovely bubbly smile, was equally cheery and friendly. Loved the food, loved the shows, loved even the coffee in the play areas.. What a refreshing change all round.

Morning Pingu, Great to hear you and your ‘flock’ enjoyed a wonderful day out at the BIG sheep and refused to let a bit of drizzle dampen your fun. We have plenty of indoor and outdoor shows, attractions, rides and events to keep the whole family entertained all day long whatever the weather, and rain NEVER stops play here!

Vaughan and Chloe will be thrilled to get a special mention. Chloe is always happy and smiley and surprisingly enough, this is her first mention on trip advisor. Vaughan is always a big hit with our guests. Despite delivering the same shows on a daily basis he does so with a real freshness so that it does appear like he’s only been running the show a few times.

Sounds like you loved everything we have on offer at the BIG Sheep and we are delighted you all had so much fun. Hope you had a safe journey back to Somerset and come back and see us again very soon.

We bought our tickets online to make use of the 20% discount. This made the day much more affordable. I found the whole certain things open at certain times thing quite stessful with 3 children wanting to do different things I was constantly chasing my tail making sure we didn't miss it! I get why you might do this at off peak times but 1st week of school hols I found it odd. Pony rides were advertised but didn't happen. I didn't like the pay for rides you pay enough to get in to then pay extra seemed a bit off. That said there were plenty of positives. Pete did a great job with the sheep show and feeding the lambs and the sheep racing was a highlight. My eldest loved the roller coaster and my youngest 2 enjoyed taking part in the duck trials. Little things would have made the day better for us like all the go karts working and the football's pumped up so you can actually kick them. Would have been nice to have the ride on tractors for littlest guests as well as the pedal variety.

Hello Bing, thanks for such a constructive review. One of the down sides of Trip Advisor is that the date of the review and day of the visit can be different so it is difficult to pinpoint the particular points you raise. All our rides, shows and attractions are now running non-stop throughout the day. We do have little ride on tractors for little ones and I’m sorry you missed these.

Pete has asked me to pass on his thanks for giving him a special mention and it's great to read that you enjoyed all his shows and your younger children enjoyed the interaction in the duck show and your eldest loved the coaster.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to write your review, customer feedback helps us massively to improve what we do and what we offer our visitors.
