Loved this place. Not a Chatsworth or a Blenheim and the grounds not the most palatial, but still an attractive house in a beautiful setting. What makes it 5 stars was our tour guide. She was a riot, a natural entertainer with an encyclopaedic knowledge of not just the house, it's history and it's family, but also of period homes and the aristocracy that went with them. Exceptionally we'll read, she looked and sounded as though she'd just walked off the set of Antiques Roadshow. Good cafe and shop and the nearby pub has it's moments too.
