My husband and I have stayed at the Jersey Farm Hotel on a couple of occasions. The first was for a friend's wedding at the hotel, which was a fantastic day. Event ran like clockwork throughout the day, mainly thanks to Ruth the wedding coordinator. The venue was perfect for a wedding, with the extensive grounds providing great photo opportunities.
We also stayed at Jersey Farm when my sister came over from New Zealand for a holiday. We booked for one night with her and her husband staying on for another night!
I found the menus to be well thought out with a good range of choices. The Carvery is also a great choice if you can't decide from the menu. The rooms are all individually decorated and well maintained, with home cooked biscuits adding that special touch to the tea tray, and the Jersey cow theme runs through the hotel, reminding guests that the hotel used to be a working farm.
The staff are friendly and very helpful - nothing is too much trouble. I will certainly stay here again, and my sister has added Jersey Farm to her list of places to stay when she next returns to the UK.

When everything is going right it becomes the little things that count.

At my Stepdaughter's wedding, the Jersey Farm Hotel did so many little things from start to finish that there are too many to list... The fact that everything else was going right throughout the day was no accident though... Their wedding coordinator Ruth had her finger on the pulse constantly.

The fact that the function suite is detached from the main hotel so keeping our party separate from anything else going on, and that it had a side room and a balcony giving guests different areas to congregate were some of the deciding factors.

Our room was tastefully decorated. The Bridal suite has to be seen to be believed!

Room Tip: We had room 19.

My partner & i just had a very relaxing few days here , superior room indeed was just that , spotless, spacious, decorated to a very high/modern standard . Eclectic modern style throughout very much retaining the country ethos whilst incorporating the modern comforts . Food top quality from the breakfast ( massive choice ) through the day to evening ,between us we sampled carvery & various other dishes all faultless , starters & desserts likewise ! Our host Mark & his father (who cooks a lovely breakfast) very attentive also his bar managers a wondeful couple , wherever we were they were there offering a seamless faultless service . So whether its short stay long stay( wedding venue) or just a meal as you pass , you would not be disappointed Local areas of interest are plentiful or just relax totally peaceful ambience .

We stayed here overnight on Saturday 22nd February and we can honestly say that The Jersey Farm just gets better each time. The staff are warm and helpful and it's nice to see the same faces each time. We stayed in room 21 and the room is decorated to a very high standard. The huge bed is extremely comfortable and the wet room is well equipped. We dined in the restaurant in the evening and the meal was delicious. Afterwards we enjoyed drinks in the bar. The breakfast the following morning was very good with plenty to choose from. We would not hesitate to recommend this gem of a hotel and we can't wait to go back again soon.

After traveling to Shildon Railway Museum then spending a day admiring the A4s we needed a place to rest our weary bodies. We had been to Barnard Castle many years ago camping so knew the area. Jersey Farm was just the ticket. Plenty of parking, a bar, excellent restaurant and friendly staff. Our room had everything we needed including tea / coffee making kit and a controllable heating system. We had a drink and two courses for our evening meal which set us up for a good nights rest. The next morning we had an excellent full english breakfast which we selected from the buffet bar. Well done to all the team who were most helpful. Oh yes and we used the free wifi which was just in range from room 10.

Room Tip: Our room was opposite the reception entrance and was very peaceful.

As parents of the bride we just want to say a huge thank you to the staff at Jersey Farm for helping to make Tom and Jo's day so special. Particular thanks go to Ruth, the wedding organiser who felt more like a friend, but whose professionalism as MC ensured that the day went without a hitch. The atmosphere in the function room was magical, just perfect for a winter wedding. The food was delicious and although we wondered about the logistics of offering three choices for each course for over 80 guests, the service was very efficient and unobtrusive. The transition to the evening celebrations was seamless and although we were too busy circulating to try it - it was a good party - we are told the buffet was also very good. The quirky, retro feel of the decor added to the overall relaxed feeling of the venue and we enjoyed a good night's sleep in our clean and comfortable room. Jersey Farm provided just the right ambiance Tom and Jo were looking for in a wedding venue: well done them for finding it! Once again, many thanks for a lovely day.
