“Great Indian!”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

My partner and I visit Eggleston twice yearly from Dublin, Ireland for the last few years, and discovered Spice Island on our first visit (thanks to an ad on Radio Teesdale). We visit on every trip - twice on this one! The food is always excellent, and the staff really pleasant - knowledgeable and helpful in their suggestions. Highly recommend it, and look forward to our next visit, hopefully in December.

“A touch of spice”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

One of the tastiest Indian meals I have had in the UK and I've eaten a few ! An interesting menu with several dishes I haven't seen offered in other restaurants. The portions were generous; I took home what I couldn't eat. The staff were pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. The ambience is modern but atmosphere created with Indian music playing in the background.

“Superb restaurant”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

This was our second visit and will certainly not be our last. The choice was excellent and the food delicious - the meat was tasty and gloriously tender. What really made the evening so good, however, was the friendly and attentive service we received. Any special requests were met and the dishes were explained to us so we did not end up with dishes that were too spicy or too bland for individual palates. First rate!

“Excellent Food and Excellent Service.”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

We called in here after viewing a flyer in Richmond while on a short break. The staff were very friendly and helpful. After searching through a huge menu of tasty sounding food we ordered starters and a main. The atmosphere was excellent and our food soon arrived. We were not disappointed, it was one of the best Indians we had every had and the pancake on top of the rice was a bonus! It was so Tasty and we would definitely recommend

“Very disappointing”
Reviewed 2 July 2014 via mobile

Having read other reviews, we expected this restaurant to be really good. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The staff were friendly, but service was extremely slow. We ordered lamb dishes from their special menu. The lamb in both dishes was chunks of very hard meat, which was tasteless and unpleasant. My husband left three quarters of his dish. At least the sauce in my meal was tasty. Even the stuffed paratha was disappointing. We did enjoy the poppadoms and pickles, but that's all. Sorry, but we couldn't recommend this restaurant.
