Owner description: A green venture working towards an eco friendly way of living with organic, local and green thinking at the heart of everything we do. Bread and pizzas are made daily in our wood fired oven, and we serve simple rustic dishes made with local, organic and seasonal ingredients, all cooked fresh to order using traditional cooking methods. Supporting local producers the farmshop has a traditional butchers counter, delicatessen, bakery and general store with organic fruit, veg, wines, beers and baby products. All of our bread, cakes, patisserie and even chocolates are organic and are hand made in our own kitchens.

Stopped on the way to the lakes and on the way back. I had the same both times a delicious kofta kebab with flatbread..yummy. A bit expensive and on the second visit the salads were a bit tired. My husband had quiche for one meal said it was the best he had ever tasted, on the return journey he had fishcakes which were more like large fish balls, they were a little bit bland. The chips were yummy though. Also the beers on offer in the shop were ones my husband had never heard of so that was a bit of brass spent. Very friendly however although the tables were wiped it was a bit sloppy. Would visit again though.

We stopped here for a drink . Nice set out and clean. Nice menu and good specials. It is table service but there only seemed to be one person taking the orders. The guy who cleared out table and brought our drinks didn't say a word to us . We had a cake too.

The warm welcome, friendly staff, clean toilets, practically perfect pizza, cooked in an authentic wood-fired oven and freshly made; delivered piping hot and delicious.

We stopped again recently but the next time we stop which will be at the end of August, we HOPE there is no boring back ground music, which we thought was too loud anyway. After travelling and then stopping we really want peace and relaxation thats why we stopped going to another A66 stop it was noisy. I have written glowing reviews on Cross Lanes before so it is not having a go for the sake of it. Please Peter (the owner) keep your music to music nights for those who want to attend. We look forward to our visit at the end of August.
