The Bowes Museum is a purpose built museum which has a number of worthwhile artefacts to enjoy viewing. The museum also hosts a variety of displays by different artists for certain periods of time.
Top tips
1. Don't rush your ticket is valid for 12 months so you can go back again if you wish.
2. The Automaton silver swan is brought to life at 2.00 pm every day so plan your visit to take in this display.
3. The Catwalking photography exhibition by Chris Moore was very worthwhile and this is from a man who can lose the will to live after 5 minutes on a fashion shopping trip.

In the mist of all the vernacular local stone homes stands this impressive chateaux building which is a monument to the amazing story which led to its creation. The fashion section was impressive and the painstaking collection of so many pieces in such a short time must have been a full time job. The cafe is also well worth a visit.

We were very pleasantly surprised with our visit to this museum. A very impressive building in itself, within magnificent grounds and also a very interesting museum.

After seeing many adverts for the current BFG exhibition we were excited to plan a go look see. Only got to the door , £14 each entry fee saw us turn right back around again through the revolving door entrance. So upset.
