From the moment we arrived we felt right at home. Clean cottage which is furnished lovely with lovely views. The village of Romaldkirk is quaint and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Had a lovely meal at one of the pubs in the village and paid a visit to high force which was well worth the walk.

very nice little cottage, well equipped and very clean.
next door to the cottage is the kirk inn pub (might not be everyones taste) but quirky and we visited each night we were there....owner doesn't do food but hes extremely friendly and welcoming and that's important to us
Pub opposite the kirk is called the rose and crown, but I have to say its food is very overpriced for what they offer and not my kind of place...iits a bit like sitting in a library (frightened to talk above a whisper) so we found other places to eat of which theres plenty around the area.

“A Home from Home”

From the moment we arrived we felt at home. There was a lovely card and welcome gift waiting for us on the dining room table, and the cottage itself was immaculately clean.

Everything we could possibly need was there. The fully fitted kitchen had all the utensils required to easily prepare meals and there was even a washing machine to wash my clothes after a particularly wet and windy walk!

The bedrooms were beautiful. There was a lovely window seat in the twin room which was quite perfect for reading!

The cottage is in a perfect location for walks. From the doorstep, to walks further afield, the area is quite beautiful. High Force was a mere 10-15minute drive away. We also enjoyed frequent visits to Barnard Castle which offers a handful of quirky little shops and lovely tea rooms.
