“Exquisite food, great value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2014 via mobile

We had a special offer deal of thirty pounds per head. Whilst this might sound expensive it was three courses of exquisite food plus appetisers and amuse bouche, therefore, an absolute bargain.

Starters - delicious, melt in the mouth cheese soufflé and liver that was cooked to perfection.

Mains - venison and lamb dishes, both of which were tender and beautifully presented.

Desserts - carrot cake and cinnamon ice cream. (To just call this a slice of carrot cake does not do justice to the heaven on a plate flavour, texture or presentation) selection of cheese from the trolley - selection was a bit limited. They boast an extensive cheese menu, but they only had five cheeses available, none of which were particularly unusual nor produced locally (yes, I am a cheese snob).

Service was attentive without being obtrusive.

We would highly recommend the restaurant, and staying in the hotel just for the restaurant, particularly if you can find a deal online.

“Excellent food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2014

The quality and presentation of the food was excellent.
The breakfast was freshly cooked.
It may have been nice to have had a 'daily special' in the evening but I loved the menu and cannot find any fault at all.

“business trip to north west”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014

This is a well run restaurant with well trained staff, there is a good choice of food which is served to your liking and very well cooked.
However I think this restaurant will suit the more mature traveller as it can be a little stiff
