Just spent 4 fantastic days at the Wild Rose holiday park in a gorgeous Platinum Holiday Home which was immaculate, spacious and very comfortable. The park is in the most beautiful setting which is suitable for both families and couples. Staff were absolutely brilliant, so friendly and could not do enough for us. This is my first caravan holiday and have now been converted - definitely will be returning to this park, loved it

Spent 4 great days at Wild Rose ,Park in a Holiday Home. The complex, company and even weather were brilliant! Paid for Gold home, given gorgeous Platinum one, spotless, spacious and very modern. Outdoor pool was well used by my 6 year old and we didn't have to travel to nearest supermarket, thanks to well stocked site shop. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting on decking in evening with glass off red, in lovely surroundings. Would return without any hesitation. Only minus would be no decking furniture but dragged table n chairs outside anyway!

Just back from a 3 night stay in a wigwam and it was very enjoyable indeed. The wigwams are cosy and great fun, my son who is 9 enjoyed it immensely. The outdoor pool was good fun although one night my son was in the small pool skidding about and there was at least 6 youths jumping over benches etc, they didn't bother us but if anything drastic was to happen who,s fault is it!!! Also the toilets at the camping/wigwam side were an absolute disgrace, filthy floors, never any toilet paper and cobwebs everywhere, only saw a cleaner once and she still didn't fill the toilet roll dispensers, they also shut the toilets for maintenance!!!!!!!, the showers were absolutely freezing, hopefully the maintenance repairs will improve this. Other than that the camp was lovely, we had no bother with noise etc. the park is ideal for day visiting, we went to Penrith, Kendal and into Appleby. Alas we couldn't get an extra night but hopefully next time we will book longer. One last point there is not enough lighting at reception area.

This place is the most beautiful setting with something to suit everyone. It is well presented and split into so many different ares so you can choose your preference.Family, couples, play areas, quiet areas. The staff are lovely and so kind and friendly, never had any problems when we have stayed. The vans are immaculate and to a very high standard and nothing is too much to ask for. It's a family friendly site where kids can be free range. Shower blocks are clean and warm. The flower beds well kept and I would recommend this piece of paradise to anyone. Ignore the previous bitter comments. Obviously hard to please people. After all it is camping, caravaning not a 5 star hotel. Muck in and enjoy it!

6th July 2013.
Camping (tent) 2 adults and 2 kids 9 & 8.
A very well looked after site, clean and in the most remote and beautiful setting.
Shower blocks clean and well maintained. Reception staff very friendly and the best camp shop we have ever known. (Get there early for the fresh bread).
A very clean and shall I say very refreshing outdoor pool (it starts off freezing but if you persist with it it slowly gets colder)
Did not use the bar or restaurant but I was told it was reasonable. It had Sky Sports on when I walked passed on Saturday and looked very inviting.
We have booked to go again at the end of the month and took advantage of the on site 20% discount.
Not a lot for the kids to do but with 2 parks and the games room and a couple of trips out we should have a good week. (Weather permitting)

We booked a so-called 'Platinum' caravan and although we were given something that doesn't live up to the title we were assured it was the highest quality on the park. Look at the photo of the actual bedroom I have included and compare it to the one on their own website. Then you can decide how much the other photos on their website reflect reality. The electrics were faulty on the caravan so the floor was covered with water as the freezer had defrosted. A handyman arrived but failed to fix the fault although he told us he had so we put all our food in the fridge and it was unusable the next day having been at room temperature all night. We couldn't get the cooker working and after 30 minutes a handyman arrived and he couldn't fix it. He told us these things are 'an act of God' and 'we can't predict the future'. No, but they could do simple checks before guests arrive but they obviously do not.

The promised free WIFI throughout the park is laughable. Our caravan was less than a hundred yards from reception where the access point is but the signal was too weak to connect. I dread to think what it was like for other guests who were further away. The receptionist said that you can get a good connection in the reception area, and that they are thinking about getting boosters. No good for those of us who have already paid though. Also there was no specific parking space as advertised, we had to leave our car on the roadside by the caravan. Not a huge complaint but again it was advertised. We were told we could park it on the grass but the book of rules we were given on arrival said to keep off the grass.

When Michael (the manager) arrived it was just excuse after excuse and when my wife got upset I asked him to leave. I had to ask him three times before he actually went away and when I brought this up with him later he started telling me off for shouting at him. Neither my wife nor myself had shouted and I felt humiliated at being told off by him, I will be making an official complaint with the company after this treatment although from my experience with the company I doubt it will do any good.

We were offered a replacement caravan and a full refund which we were intially very happy with. Michael also gave us £30 to cover the lost food and drink which we were also happy with. Unfortunately, Hoseasons would not let us have the refund and the replacement caravan, we could have only one or the other. We chose the refund and came home as we would not pay to stay at the site.

I do not recommend this holiday park due to the misleading web site and the treatment of guests by the staff.

We had 2 nights in Appleby at this park and we took our tent me and my husband and in laws. When we got there they got our booking completely wrong and booked us for a caravan slot, so in the end we asked the nice gentleman who worked there to help us out - he was very helpful indeed. The site where we pitched up was great and we mingled in with the travellers. We had a fantastic time there and the restaurant was excellent and the staff in the shop. As the fair progressed we noticed that the toilets were not kept up to standards and 9/10 they were not kept clean and not monitored as for toilet rolls. The ladies was absolutely filthy one day and there was faeces on the floor. There was only one shower with running hot water, the toilets were littered with rubbish. When on the last day my father in law went to complain about the mess - the girls on the reception was not interested and argued with my father in law, this is very very poor customer experience and they need training he said. All they were bothered about is that the travellers came down the hill for showers and were paying the girls £5 to use them. We will never ever go back and will never recommend them to anyone at all. We will of course visit Appleby next year for the fair but not this site.
