Wonderful cottage ,beautifully appointed. Helpful host but not really required because everything was available. Try the 90 minute walk to Rutter Falls.Be amazed at the beauty of it. 30 minutes to Ambleside ,where we took the 1920 steam ferry. You can drop off and try a 3 hour walk, ending up at the pub by the Ferry.
We spent a lot of time just looking out into the garden where we were entranced by tits, woodpecker, pheasants and wonderful red squirrels.

The house was lovely and very warm and comfy. It had plenty of room for 8 people. Kay was very helpful and offered good advice about local activities. Beautiful countryside and lots of wildlife in the morning. Only minor disadvantage is to have to pay for washing and pool table, but didn't result in any difficulties!
