“Good, clean Park - children loved it!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

Stayed in one of the 3 Bedroomed Platinum caravans, although expensive in the Easter Holidays it was worth it just for the central heating!! Kitchen and sitting area exactly as shown on website, bedrooms were not, they were tiny but I guess that happens in a 3 bedroomed caravan. We stayed in The Leas which was very peaceful, a short walk to the entertainment area. We found the food in the restaurant good value, the character breakfast was good fun although stick to the standard breakfasts as the add on items aren't good value for money. All the staff were friendly and the service was very good. We went to the club every night and our children loved it. The children took part in lots of the activities and had a great time. The outdoor pool and lazy river were open when we stayed although they were freezing cold but the older children used them - too cold for the little ones. The only small disappointment was the indoor pool, although it looks new and is very clean it was quite cold with no shallow end for the younger children, the children (ages 2, 4, 8, 13 and 17) could only manage about 15 minutes at a time in the pool it was so cold which was a shame as we normally have to bribe them to get out of a swimming pool!!

Overall a good park, all the facilities are very clean and look new. Very friendly staff. Good caravan which was as advertised and very clean. Weymouth, which is a short drive away, is a lovely old seaside town with a great beach, which if you are lucky enough to have good weather, would be a fantastic day out.

The entertainment was good, but more geared towards young children and not a lot for older children/adults. Stavros Flatley appeared though, and they were excellent. Our caravan was clean, but the carpet was stained and the sofa was frayed. The food in the restaurant was ok. The laundromat was very expensive, at I think it was £5 for a wash, and around £2 for a 10 minute dry, although you'd need at least 20 minutes for the dryer. The shop was well stocked. It was a long walk to Weymouth itself, it took us about 45 minutes by going up and over the hill (the shortcut to the beach) and walking alongside the beach. Weymouth is absolutely beautiful. We found a pub called the Spyglass Inn which was just over the hill, it was less than £5 for a carvery Monday to Saturday, more on a Sunday. The inn had lovely views over Weymouth Bay. I would stay here again.

I didn't make use of the onsite entertainment as I was out doing my own thing so I'm only reviewing the caravan itself and I think it was pretty good.

It can sleep eight people but they only allow six which is just as well because it's crowded enough with six people, with eight people you wouldn't be able to move!

Bring your own pans if you are thinking of cooking though, there are some provided but they are no where near big enough to cook for six people, plates and cutlery are provided too.

It can get cold at night but the heaters do a good job, just remember there is a 'master' switch to turn them all on (I think in the room with a double bed). The single beds are a big short if you're a tall person, say over 6'1 but I am 6'1 and it didn't bother me.

One thing I would say though is I think there maybe mould or something in there, you can't see it but something was triggering my asthma. Can't be certain it was anything to do with the caravan but it seems likely.

The people who run and take care of this are really nice and couldn't have been better, although I din't deal with them personally the person who booked through them thought they were great.

I would still recommend this place, I only gave it three stars instead of four because of my asthma being triggered and even then I can't be certain it was anything to do with the caravan.

We spent an enjoyable Easter break here at Weymouth Bay. We rented our caravan privately and we were more than pleased with what we found. The owner was friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Our caravan was spotless as was the whole of the park. The staff were friendly and the the entertainment was great. Especially Stavros Flatley. The food in the bar was good and reasonably priced.
We would definitely return. Thank you Haven and thank you Gemma the owner of Glades 62 :-)

we turned up without booking (we previously done this here 2 years ago) the staff are extremely helpful even though there was a long queue of holidaymakers checking in they spent ages with us trying to find us accomodation, we were offered 3 different types and decided on the cheapest, it was excellent superior caravan all bedding and club passes, the caravan was practically brand new 3 bedrooms 2 toilets and a shower, full size cooker, free heating in all rooms very very clean and all for 109 pound, had a most enjoyable break will def go back.

A lovely short break good entertainment, lovely staff, reasonable prices, good food and able to get a seat! the only negative was in a superior caravan the only heating was a gas fire in the lounge area so the bedrooms were FREEZING!!!!

We booked this through the sun holidays, when we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff given our keys and a map and pointed in the right direction to our caravan - the caravan was very small so I would advise to upgrade it had a tv/DVD combi and all the kitchen utensils you would require, it was very well cleaned.
The park itself is very well cleaned and was lovely and quite they had an onsite restaurant which was very reasonably priced, an arcade and the live lounge where the night time entertainment was starting with bingo at five and then the kids shows and discos then a show at about 10pm there are lots of activities to sign up for throughout the day.
The swimming pool was nice all one depth so kids could enjoy it without you worrying we all loved the lazy river which was warm it was great fun.
My family and I would definitely come back to this park.
