Waterside Holiday Park & Spa
Certificate of Excellence

I have to totally disagree with the last reviewer!!
We decided to holiday in the UK this summer having been to Florida for our last 2 holidays. After trying a search engine on the internet I came across this holiday park.
We did hire our caravan privateley, maybe thats the difference too. The park was busy as it was the start of the summer holidays, something that we hadn't experienced before but expected now that our eldest is school age.

The park is very clean and well looked after. The staff are all very friendly.
The childrens entertainment was excellent (john is great). Kids club runs during the day at 11 and then starts again at 7pm (not too late our 2 boys are 6 &4) maybe the 7pm start is geared for families taking a day out or making the most of the parks facilities, the pool doesnt close until 7pm. There is an indoor soft play area for kids as well as an outdoor park.

Across the road from the park is Bowleaze cove, so it is just that, a cove, so we expected rocks and seaweed.
There is a fairground here however this is not part of Waterside holiday park, the rides are 80p, (we paid £1.50 for 2 slides down an inflatable at Portland ) They have a happy hour 7-9pm when the rides are 50p each.
Weymouth beach is a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk along a nice coastal path.

There is a chip shop, we preferred to have ours cooked to order as this was nice and fresh and we normally have to wait at our local chippy at home anyway. The waterside restaurant was fairly priced, we ate out locally and only found this slightly more expensive than others. The Spyglass Inn is a 10 minute walk, they do very good carvery, within walking is also 'The Lookout' a bistro with breakfast and lunches we would reccommend, particularly the fresh crab sandwich!! Smugglers Inn is about 10 minutes away and we loved this, however it does get busy at lunchtimes and even more so in the evening.

We found the park to be in a great location and it did live up to our expectations, having been on numerous well known caravan park holidays in the past this far outshone them.

The caravans are fairly close to each other, I have to admit ,and this would be my only gripe if any. We looked for a caravan further on the edge of the park for next year to enable our sons to play outside more freely.
