“Lovely..”
Reviewed 14 August 2010

We stayed for a week and had a really lovely time. Staff are fantastic, cannot do enough for you. Caravan lovely and clean, mattresses pretty uncomfortable, but this is pretty standard for a caravan!!!. Ideal for exploring local area. Lots for all ages to do around weymouth. Only criticisms are that the pool is nowhere near big enough for the size of the camp and changing rooms are pretty poor. Holiday enjoyed by all our party. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Stayed at the Waterfront Holiday Park for a week. Make no mistake this site is OK and some facilities are good but it is NOT a 5* as advertised. The caravans are packed in with no views. Carpets were grubby, fridge too small for 6 people. The outside table broke and was not replaced which was very poor. Internet conection very expensive and slow. There is no proper outside play area for children to play games/fly kites ect. Don't be tempted to go horse riding, you pay for an hour and get 40 mins round the block. On the plus side the shops were OK and the indoor pool very good and child friendly. Only 5 mins to Weymouth which is a congestion "hot spot". If you have booked enjoy...If not go somewhere else.

Well what can i say. We are a couple who now have young children and choose our holidays accordingly. We found the site to be fantastic. Check in was seamless straight in and onto our caravan. We stayed in red 53 which was a gorgeous caravan. Spacious well equiped and very clean and modern. It was very quiet and peacful and the the site was well maintained. We found the swimming area and all communal areas clean and modern. Staff were always friendly and attentive. The entertainment was very good, bands very proffessional but by the end of the week you've had enough but the kids are still wanting to party!!! We only ate at the fish and chip shop one night and they were fine, but ventured to some lovely pubs locally all with great play areas, one was the spice ship i think and the other the smugglers inn. There are such lovely areas near durdle door small villages we would eat out on our travels.

I used the spa for a full body wrap and pedicure and yes it is slightly expensive but the service was great and staff very attentive. After a week my nails still look fantastic so a great way to start your holiday.

Theres lots to do around and we found the aquarium down the road a good day out and Weymouth beach was really nice, All clean and well kept.

We would definately go back as its a great location for exploring. I have never written a review before but compared to Haven this is spot on.

Well we have come here for over 6 years, Adults, teenagers and children. What a great place to stay. The staff are very warm friendly from the reception staff when you arrive to the cleaners and the security staff. Nothing is to much trouble.

Clean caravans with all you need for a great holiday. The site has lots of things to do from the kids club, to hte playground,, funfair, play area and for us older kids, the bars, plenty of places to eat ( for a good price) and the beach and sea are on your door step.

Ideal place to stay and rest or you could travel and visit Weymouth or the sea life, Northe fort and many more places. We all will be back later this year. :-)

I have to totally disagree with the last reviewer!!
We decided to holiday in the UK this summer having been to Florida for our last 2 holidays. After trying a search engine on the internet I came across this holiday park.
We did hire our caravan privateley, maybe thats the difference too. The park was busy as it was the start of the summer holidays, something that we hadn't experienced before but expected now that our eldest is school age.

The park is very clean and well looked after. The staff are all very friendly.
The childrens entertainment was excellent (john is great). Kids club runs during the day at 11 and then starts again at 7pm (not too late our 2 boys are 6 &4) maybe the 7pm start is geared for families taking a day out or making the most of the parks facilities, the pool doesnt close until 7pm. There is an indoor soft play area for kids as well as an outdoor park.

Across the road from the park is Bowleaze cove, so it is just that, a cove, so we expected rocks and seaweed.
There is a fairground here however this is not part of Waterside holiday park, the rides are 80p, (we paid £1.50 for 2 slides down an inflatable at Portland ) They have a happy hour 7-9pm when the rides are 50p each.
Weymouth beach is a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk along a nice coastal path.

There is a chip shop, we preferred to have ours cooked to order as this was nice and fresh and we normally have to wait at our local chippy at home anyway. The waterside restaurant was fairly priced, we ate out locally and only found this slightly more expensive than others. The Spyglass Inn is a 10 minute walk, they do very good carvery, within walking is also 'The Lookout' a bistro with breakfast and lunches we would reccommend, particularly the fresh crab sandwich!! Smugglers Inn is about 10 minutes away and we loved this, however it does get busy at lunchtimes and even more so in the evening.

We found the park to be in a great location and it did live up to our expectations, having been on numerous well known caravan park holidays in the past this far outshone them.

The caravans are fairly close to each other, I have to admit ,and this would be my only gripe if any. We looked for a caravan further on the edge of the park for next year to enable our sons to play outside more freely.

I
