“Fantastic few days”
Reviewed 21 August 2014 via mobile

Thanks to Charlotte and her team for making our stay memorable. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast was excellent. Cocktails in the bar are a must as they are gorgeous. Thought that happy hour was excellent value. Hotel location is brilliant right on sea front in middle of Esplanade so well positioned. However we were on top floor and last set of stairs a little steep. Not a problem for us but suggest check with Charlotte if you are less able bodied. Overall highly recommended.

Have spent three nights at the Acqua Beach with my husband and daughter and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of a well earned break. It was a last minute booking in the only room left and was fab value for money. The location is perfect - right opposite the beach at the quieter end of the promenade, parking is not easy but can be overcome with a permit obtained from the hotel or if you happen to have a blue badge then you can park in the blue bays 24/7 which is a real bonus.
The owner, Charlotte was very welcoming and cooks the best breakfast in Weymouth - plenty of it and NOT greasy and her staff are a credit to her. The décor in the dining room and bar is absolutely fab and by her own admission she is completely revamping every room and judging by the standard of decoration in the public areas it will be first class when finished. Our room was one of those waiting to be done but I must say it was completely adequate and very clean with lovely comfy beds and tea and coffee making facilities and a flat screen tv - what more do you need especially with the lovely weather and the beach over the road it was the ideal place to stay and would definitely stay there again - thank you Charlotte.

Room Tip: Book early and book a "superior" room if you want to make sure you have an already revampe...

Stayed 12th-14 August with 2 of our children. Great location across the road from the beach. We were given a parking permit for our people carrier and fortunately found a 'permit only' bay in the side road adjacent to the hotel. We had Room 7 which is a double -shower is not very powerful but we slept well and woke to the sound of seagulls -perfect start to each day. The children shared Room 8 which was a little smaller than ours but the shower was powerful (so the children said). Breakfast was great and the young female staff were very polite and helpful (thankyou). Would recommend for a short break definitely.

Room Tip: Rooms to the front of the hotel have a great view of the sea. Some rooms have free wi-fi.

Lovely breakfast room and breakfast and cocktail bar!
Unrivalled sea view and good base for Dorset sightseeing if you have a car.
Nice beach.
Great team of girls running the show for owner.
Boutique hotel atmosphere great but not entirely backed up by the room we had. Bathroom old but functional, would have been more forgiving had the only shelf not been broken. Bed comfortable and looked fine on face of it but barely hanging together. Otherwise OK, would have been nice to have had a small table but would have made it cramped. We brought in our own picnic table anyway. Nice chest and sufficient storage.
I would return just to see the see on rising, in shower, on bed, everywhere in fact. I liked the quirky atmosphere and reflections in some ways to my own home. But I think this may be oversold and not well reflected to a good standard in all the rooms. I would want assurance of this before booking again. There is a huge disparity between the photo clincher and cocktail bar and some of the rooms.
All said, I am voting good.

Room Tip: Phone and discuss. Ignore arrogance and request a photo if you are in a room not yet refurbished. So...

My Daughter booked this up for my birthday. I love Weymouth beautiful place and one of the friendliest places in England. I enjoyed my stay at the Acqua. The staff are lovely. The boy serving the cocktails Thursday night was very professional and made brilliant cocktails. The girls serving breakfast were lovely and really professional. The breakfast was nice clean and fresh. I have no complaints. Location could not be better out the door across the road there is the beach. The customer service was good. My negative but not meant to be is the hotel could do with a little makeover. The decor is slightly dated. Take down the wood chip and change the carpets. The shower we had was amazing. I personally would of had the bedroom where the shower room is and the shower where the beds are.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 3. There was no view but then you leave the hotel and there is the beach and views...

Stayed here 25th-27th July -great location but really disappointed with this place-we booked a family room and were given a room that is usually allocated to students! Tiny en-suite! Very hot room -on arrival had to ask for sheet to be changed on double bed/no soap in bathroom and bed not made up for our daughter. We did ask to be moved but no one came back to us -breakfast when it came was ok but only one poor girl serving in packed dining room-a lot of unhappy people having to serve themselves to cutlery ect from other tables. Weymouth lovely place to stay but not here. I have sent an e-mail with all these points but surprise no reply!

Would not recommend to friends & family and even though we will return to Weymouth would not go here again.

stayed for a weekend 25th July, booked superior room with sea view and balcony no 5, we wearnt at all impressed with room, and shower was a akward to get working, the poor girl (darcey got soaked trying to work it out love her) the balcony was out through floor to cieling windows you had to step out over sill, but we wearnt there to stay in the room and we let it go because the view was amazingwe had the best day ever on the friday sitting on the beach cool box with wine and actually hot enough to swim in the lovely sea,it was a lovely planned saved up for treat for our 3 years together where we had met on POF (yea really),,,,,then sat morning we had to be up and out for a boat trip and the poor girl serving breakfasts really didnt have a clue, not her fault, but we had to get up and leave and pay for breakfast elsewhere, the rest of the day was lovely, another day on the beach after our trip, we had breakfast on the sunday as it seemed less hectic and what a difference the waitress was so much more profesional, it was very basic though deffo not the best breakfast ive had in a hotel.
then it came to checking out, the host charlotte was called (1st time we had set eyes on her good host ?) we said we wearnt happy she offered us 20quid back for the lack of breakfast sat morning, then when i mentioned the superior room not being so, she took it very personal and said `well i dont know where you usualy stay ? the RITZ ? oh dear there really wasnt any need for that, there was no customer service in her at all and no need to say that, we had the best weekend in so long location wise but its a pity she put a bitter end to it, we will deffo be staying in weymouth again but in another hotel, and will not be staying in the Ritz we work hard for our breaks away and and have stayed in some lovely cheap seaside hotels with great service , i wont be recomending the Acqua hotel unfortunatly.

Room Tip: room 5 is not superior just average its the views that make it nothing else
