Another fantastic stay and the Roundhouse Hotel in Weymouth. Superbly located between the Quay and the beach it is ideal for visiting all the attractions at Weymouth as well as dining and shopping. We would highly recommend the Roundhouse for its warm welcome, high standard of accommodation and superb breakfasts.

Room Tip: All rooms have views, most with duel aspect, the choice will be how many stairs you wish to climb as...

The Roundhouse is perfectly located at the end of the seafront, with views either over the bay and the beach or across the small inlet to the right. The rooms are unique in decor and of a very good size. A group of four of us stayed in May and had the two top rooms - both of which had views over the bay and beach. The room are spacious, with a living room area and en suite. The bed was incredibly comfortably. There was a great selection for breakfast and the owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.

Parking can be difficult to find and often expensive in Weymouth. However, just to the right of the hotel is some on the road parking which is free overnight and fairly reasonable during the day.

While in Weymouth we visited some lovely pubs, took a boat trip along the Jurassic Coast, played mini-golf on the beach, and had a lovely dinner at Mallams.

Room Tip: Both of the top floor rooms are fantastic

The B & B was easy to find close to the seafront. Quaint and an easy walk to town and nice walk along the sandy beach. Our room was large but expensive for what it was! Needed decorating...would suggest a nice subtle seaside blue on all the walls (can see where the decor is coming from with blue and yellow but looked a bit mish mash!). Ceiling had been re skimmed so that was unfinished. Furniture also a bit this and that but overall an ok room. Ensuite lower tiles need a good scrub and floor rug needs changing daily as it gets wet from the shower and smelt damp! Tissues would be nice instead of having to use toilet roll. These things need to be mentioned as the room was expensive compared to hotels around the UK we have stayed in. Continental breakfast very good with an array of cereals, fresh fruit salad and Danish pastries, croissants etc. a hot option included in the overall price would be expected. Car parking permit was useful although I would expect places to be at a premium during the very busy season. Overall a good B & B for a short break, close to station and ferry for a trip to Guernsey.

Room Tip: Top floor as we had people stomping and banging around upstairs!

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review for the Roundhouse. I was very pleased to read that on the whole you enjoyed your stay.

The Roundhouse is far from being a traditional seaside bed and breakfast and we work very hard to make sure that we offer something different. If you read through our reviews, you will see that the vast majority of our guests love the decor with our distinctive eclectic look and rather unusual colour palettes. However, from time to time we do have guests who simply don't understand our style. I think that you may be in the latter category, but as I have said in a previous response, it would be a boring world if we were all the same. So, whilst I thank you for your decorating tips, I can assure you that our "this and that" colours, furniture and decorative plasterwork are here to stay!

With regard to the breakfast, freshly made porridge is always available - plain or sweetened with muscovado sugar - so there is definitely something hot included in the price of the stay along with everything else you mentioned in your review - perhaps you didn't see that on the menu. However, we offer such a wide variety of cooked breakfast options that it would be impossible to have a blanket price that covered everything, not to mention unfair to those who didn't want anything cooked.

I am sorry that we let you down with our bathroom cleanliness not being up to scratch. This is something I take very seriously and steps have been taken to ensure that everything is now back to our normal high standards. Again, if you read through our other comments you will see that we are frequently praised for our standards of cleanliness and for the little extras we provide in the rooms - one of which should most definitely have been tissues - so again, my apologies for our slip up.

I hope that this will not put you off returning and that I will be able to welcome you back in the future.

Proprietor very friendly and helpful. Room was good with excellent views over the beach and port. But, bathroom not so good - serviceable, but small. Breakfast good, bacon excellent. Decor of the room was a bit startling for our tastes, but all very clean. Would I recommend it? Yes, without a doubt.

Room Tip: Room 2 was good

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review for the Roundhouse. I must say I was rather alarmed when I read the title of the review, but relieved when I realised that our only real "flaw" was that you thought the bathroom was on the small side. It's always interesting to read how guests' perceptions are all so different - you stayed in the same room as the guests who left the review below entitled "Another Amazing Stay" praising our decor and bathroom - but it's true that it would be a boring world if we were all the same!

Just a little tip for the future - it's always worth looking out for the special offers here on TripAdvisor. You could have saved quite a bit by booking directly rather than using a booking agency!

Thanks again for your review and I hope we will be seeing you here at the Roundhouse again - I'll do my best to make sure you have a less "startling" room!

A very comfortable and welcoming property and staff. Clean, tidy, rooms with nice little extras. Thoroughly recommend for a long weekend of sightseeing in Dorset and walking on the sand. Only room I have ever had which had windows to the bay and the harbour. Very relaxing.

Stayed at the Roundhouse Hotel earlier this month and could not fault my experience at all. The owner Keith was very and helpful and went out of his way to make sure we felt welcomed. The room we stayed in was clean, unique and modern. The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect, situated in the middle of both the beach and the harbour. We had a great view of the beach from our room on the top floor. Have already recommended the Roundhouse to family and friends and would definitely return!!

We stayed in Room 2 which is on the first floor with views of the beach and ferry, lovely large room with very comfortable blingy sofa and proper bathroom. We had lovely breakfasts every morning which were cooked to order. Not a thing to fault about this lovely B&B.
