I was part of a David Urquhart tour were there was just 28 tourists. Because of this small number of guests, the hotel had ‘closed off’ the 3rd floor.
I was given room 001, which was doubtfully the worst room in the hotel. It was dark and looked out onto the fire escape. The room was also next to the lounge were the entertainment was held, so there was no chance of a quite early night.
When I asked for a change of rooms, I was told there was no other available (I was told I could change rooms with the coach driver), and yet when visiting the 3rd floor, there were plenty of rooms made up and available, including single rooms.
The food, although served on hot plates, was barely tepid, and with very little taste.
This establishment should not be classified as a Hotel, as it is just a glorified Guest House.
There were no fire drill details in the room.
When checking out, I was asked for the TV remote, and I said it was in the room. The proprietor said in an unfriendly and accusing manner that she would go back and check, the remote was in the room on arrival.
Definitely this is an establishment to avoid.More
