“Great stay with friends”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

The prince regent is in a course of refurbishment, that due to the building being very large this process will take time, the areas that have been done have been done very well and respecting of the buildings originality, the ballroom is an amazing feature and a lovely space in which to spend with friends.
The menus are of a very acceptable choice for the star rating of the hotel, the food is hot and well presented by polite staff (Patrick who served us on 17a was very patient, polite and understanding of the clientele being served). The staff throughout the hotel are helpful and polite.
The rooms are spacious and clean, the linen is spotless, (yes the tiles in the bathroom could do with a deep clean, but nothing that a squirt of cillit bang wouldn't sort out). We have stayed in hotels all over the world and this one fully meets its star rating, if you want more then pay for it. We will return and recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are a must, the view is amazing.

We have stayed at this hotel over the last 7 years. How bad was it this time. Cut backs unlimited! No more buffet breakfast. Dirty tea cups not enough cutlery. Poor service. Totally poor compared to how it used to be
Would have to be really cheap holiday to get me back there. Very disappointed

This hotel is ideally situated on the sea front. It is next door to the Russel Hotel which you can get to from in side and use either hotels bars and entertainment. We were lucky to get a sea view room (a real bonus on these kind of coach trips ), the room had a gigantic king size bed, clean sheets and lovely pillows . there was a TV ,fan to cool the room, which was a nice thing as the weather was glorious , hairdryer (which actually worked well ) and the usual tea making facilities. We had a walk in shower ,which was easy to use.
The Hotel staff were all very helpful and pleasant.
The food was well presented and cooked with plenty of choice.
Times for the breakfast and evening meal were good as everyone did not have to arrive at a set time ,it was anytime within the hours specified.

The bar was very nice as was the large ball room .Only thing I would say about the ball room (and this is offered as advice ,not criticism ,) I personally did not like the way the tables and chairs were placed around the ball room ,it rather reminded me of a cinema, think maybe have the tables and chairs at more of an angle and not in rows ?.just a thought ,as I said not a negative thing. The entertainment was of the usual type of thing for a break of this kind . Mike Moran was a fabulous guitarist /comedian who my husband particularly enjoyed.

A nice break and Weymouth itself is fabulous with so much to do for all ages.

Room Tip: I would say ask for a sea view but be prepared for noise from the seafront traffic, It was not a pro...

We had the family room and was very pleased with it, we was on the 1st floor so not far to walk, the room was very big so I had room for all our cases and buggy, the room was very clean ie the beds were all very very fresh, the bathroom was very clean as well. The bath towels were fresh and changed every day and all beds were made and bins changed and tidy. The food was nice and the staff was very nice to my sobs who are 10 and 3 and offered us more more for the kids like soup and other items to keep them quiet, the staff were very friendly and the bars are clean and open all day,the night time in the ball room was nice,we played bingo and I won £20 and the singers were good to. We are booking for next year and bringing my parents with us. Me and my family had a great time at the Prince Regent Weymouth.

Daishs have downgraded the breakfast and the entertainment but the hotel is fabulously situated, the staff are attentive and work very hard. There was only wifi in public areas. Parking on street depends on time of year but plenty of space to rear of hotel. We would recommend.

Room Tip: Seaview is worth extra money.

Food could be a little better but it is very reasonably priced so you get what you pay for. Overall we were so impressed we have booked to go again.
Shops are close by, Weymouth beach is stunning and this hotel is right on the beach.

Oh dear, the poor old Prince Regent in Weymouth has seen better days. I appreciate that Daish's may be investing in the hotel but first, why not just give it a dam good clean!

Only stayed for one evening and that was enough - honestly don't think I would have stayed any longer as I did not want to really sleep in the bed which had a dark brown grime all around the head board as as for dust, well you could write messages in it especially on the light bulbs/fittings etc.

The bathroom was in very sad state, again both with years of grime, cracked tiles on the floor and walls and mold all over the slip mats? Come on, this is not expected.

Was going to take evening meal but was told I could not dine as we had missed the one sitting of 1830Hrs! Its basically like a conveyor belt.

Breakfast was nothing to shout about, very small table, limited time to go in as its taken as a group and this may include 3 coaches. Food on offer of very poor quality.

No soap, shampoo or shower gel in rooms so remember to take your own!

Personally, I would just keep away and its such a shame as the location is superb!

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else?
