We only stayed for one night but the hotel was great. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The room was lovely and huge, clean, spacious and more than I was expecting for a late booking. The beds were comfy and we had a lovely sea view with fantastic patio doors opening straight onto the balcony. It's in a great location with lovely views. The only issue I did have was the parking. There was quite a lot of it but it was really tight to get enough cars in for the amount of rooms they have a part from that tiny issue a great time was had by all.

Our 3 night stay at the Prince Regent was great. The location of the hotel is ideal, on the seafront with a nice view of the sea and a short walk to the town. We had an enormous executive sea view room (we actually jogged around the edge to get our dinners down) with a very comortable bed. A very small gripe is that the windows seemed to suffer from condensation (although we find this in most hotels).

The service was professional and friendly, in particular Mark who made an excellent host. We both enjoyed the food; the breakfast was a plentiful, hot and tasty buffet, and the Christmas dinner was the best we have had - speedily delivered, piping hot and big portions.

The parking was a bit tricky but we managed and it was good to be under cover in the bad weather.

We are going back for Easter as we thought the hotel was so good.

The hotel is perfectly positioned on the sea front in Weymouth, and I had a glorious view of the sea. The room was above average, although they make you pay for WIFI. Breakfast was good, and the waiters were polite and attentive.

I do have a couple of gripes though. Firstly parking. The car park is below the hotel and there are not enough spaces. The car park and back of the hotel is also not marked in anyway making it very difficult to find. Actually getting into a space is near on impossible in anything other than a very small car. It took me five minutes to get in to a space due to the very tight angles. (Felt like I was Austin Powers).

My only other gripe was one particular waiter, running the restaurant in the evening. On my first evening the restaurant was fully booked and I was told I'd have to wait half an hour, this was fine I merely went across the road to another restaurant. The second night I went slightly later and was told at 20:05 that the restaurant had shut at 20:00. Thought it a bit rude not to be sat down anyway, but I later discovered the restaurant was open until 2030. My only consolation was the knowledge that I was probably the only person who would have tipped him all evening given the majority of people were senior citizens on a coach party.

Arrived at 1.30 after a long train journey from London to be told by staff "no check in until 3.00". Luggage had to be left in non-secure area. Heavy rain the next day resulted in rain water running down one of the walls in our bedroom! A wedding party in the hotel that evening resulted in an inability to get to sleep, and couldn't get near the bar for a drink. Breakfasts were not cooked on order, merely left under hot lamps/on hot plate for goodness knows how long! At £120 a night for B&B, this was one of the worst value for money hotels I've ever stayed in.

My wife and I stayed here on a three day mini-holiday. The car parking was a challenge, as there are only a few spaces, and they are difficult to manoeuvre into. Having said that, the hotel car park is indoors, locked at night so is secure, and totally free. Try paying the silly sums in the local car parks and you will really appreciate this facility. We stayed in Room 323, on the third floor, with a sea view. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom had free shampoo and free shower caps but not any free shower lotion, which seemed a bit odd. The wooden sash windows only opened bottom up, rather than top down, which meant that there might be a health & safety issue if children were to be in the room, as it would be only too easy to get too close to the window to take in the gorgeous view and then fall out. The double bed turned out to be two singles pushed together, but they were enormous, and unbelievably comfortable. We were surprised that the TV in the room only picked up terrestrial programmes in this day and age, but we were not there to watch telly anyway, so it wasn't a problem. The staff were pleasant enough, although they didn't smile much. Mind you, most of these establishments employ too few staff to do too much work, for too many hours for the minimum pay possible, so you could hardly expect them to be happy and smiling like Cheshire cats all of the time! The breakfast was a little disorganised and slow, but the food was perfectly acceptable. Interesting, and unusual, that the entire waiting staff seemed to be male. The dining room (and the central staircase) had all of the windows shut, and it was quite humid and uncomfortable being in there. Many people were wiping their brows, fanning their faces and generally looking out of sorts during the meal. There was a problem regarding the old-fashioned lift; my wife is partly disabled and needed to use it, as did many older residents in the hotel. The lift had an outer and an inner gate, and if these weren't shut properly, the lift stayed put at the floor that it was on. Despite notices informing people to ensure that both gates were shut, it was evidently too much trouble for an anti-social minority, so this proved to be an irritation. Overall though, it was a good experience, and we would definitely go there again.

Just got back from a stay at Prince Regent Weymouth. Have to say that some reviews on here are odd. Parking is very tight, have to agree with other reviews on that. Food is excellent, hot, what more do you need or breakfast than help yourself to eggs, fried or scrambled, tomato, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, beans, pastries, cereal, prunes, grapefruit or kippers, tea, coffee, toast, orange juice, apple juce or grapefuit juice! Evening meals were very tasty and healthy, with lots of veg and potatoes with expertly cooked meat. Puddings were a delight too. Waiting staff very friendly and efficient. Free wifi, great location on Esplanade. The hotel could do with refurbishing - perhaps write to Best Western as they own the hotel, to get the place up to scratch for the olympics in 2012. We have stayed in lots of b&bs in weymouth, believe me, most are rubbish.
