“Stay near the quay”
Reviewed 22 September 2013

We stayed here on Fri 20th Sep 13. It is in a great location for the quay and the shopping areas and we paid £70 for a one night stay B&B. We had a good room, spacious and clean (have one at the back if you can as there's a pub/club across the road at the front). You have to review this based on the type of hotel you're visiting as they were easily over 100 people here when we stayed so e.g. breakfast felt rushed but they were catering for a lot of people so had to be. Staff were all very friendly. The breakfast was on the small side and only warm - obviously produced in advance due to the numbers as it took less that 2 mins to get to us ! A tip to the management though if it helps - you'd be better off having staff dealing with zones in the breakfast room to be better organised. When we sat down someone asked immediately what we wanted to drink which was great but we had 4 staff do this in under 2 mins ! It's basically a good hotel in the centre, it's got it's own vaults bar. Didn't eat there but meals are extremely well priced at about £5 but can't say what they're like.

Called in here to have lunch on arrival in Weymouth last Monday and it was so good we had to go back. Meals were average size but filling but it's the cheap prices that were unusual. I had Pork loin dinner, my parents had crab salad and hubby had a large jacket potato brimming with tuna mayonaisse. Whilst I think the crab salad was about £10 the other meals were below £6.00 which is fab for a hotel. Even the desserts were only £2.50 and I can't remember the last time I saw that sort of price for a dessert. Plenty of choice here too. I would definately go back here.

We were a party of 10 people staying Friday & Saturday night (6th Sept), age range from late twentys to late fiftys. The hotel was in a fantastic position near the harbour bridge and close to all amenities. The staff were helpful especially at breakfast where they couldn't do enough for you. The hotel is locked at 11.00pm and the night reception staff have no problem in opening the door for you even early hours of the morning (3.00am in our case) I would say ask for a room in the middle of the hotel not one overlooking the side street, unfortunately our room was one of these and late party goers from the Rendezvous club opposite the hotel walked up there (very loudly in some cases). But that was a minor criticism of an otherwise excellent hotel definitely value for money. The rooms were not huge but very comfortably furnished.

Room Tip: Ask not to be given a room that overlooks the street as it is noisy when party goers leave the Rende...

Our whole experience at The Crown was excellent......from right from the time we arrived till we left.
The manager himself helped us park our car in the hotel car park and helped us in with our luggage which was a great help.
The room was good for the price and the bed comfortable. The en-suite toilet was very spacious and shower comfortable to use.
We ate in on the Saturday night and both our meals were 5 star.....I normally scoff everything, but my steak pie meal was very filling (and tasty as well) so couldn't finish it. We were well served at the table by Sharon, a very friendly waitress, who was singing all the time ....made for a good atmosphere.
Breakfast had various choices and we both liked the porridge ....and I'm from Scotland.
TBH we werent all that keen on the sausage used in the breakfast. I also had kippers one morning and they were delicious.
For wi-fi connection its only avalable at the reception area and in the lounge on the first floor.
All in all a really good hotel being close to the harbour and a short walk to the promenade.

Room Tip: Try and book a room at the back .....apparantly the rooms at the front can get noisy with noise from...

Just got back from a break at this Hotel and have to say, they cannot do enough for you.
Our party was Seniors, some with limited walking, but the access was good for them. Lift to all floors, some had trouble opening their bedroom doors, the fire doors are quite strong, but someone was nearly always on hand to help.
The place was very clean, and the cleaners always had a cheery word.
For people travelling on their own, this is so important, to have a little chat as they pass by.
Food was good, and the waiting staff would go out of their way to make sure everyone was happy with their meals.
I'm told that the entertainment was good, (every night) although we like to do our own thing and go out on the town. This was great because the hotel is in the centre of town. practically on the harbour, by the shopping centre, and a short walk down a pretty flag bedecked lane to the beach, glorious beach at Weymouth.
Thanks to all at the Crown, shall definately be back.

Room Tip: If you are fit and can manage stairs, a room on the 3rd floor would be good. Lift gets a lot of use...

We've stayed at this Hotel before which is located perfectly near the harbour & town bridge in Weymouth. We booked by phone last minute & the receptionist went the extra mile to find us a double room as it was fully booked, so she juggled a single from a double & we were able to stay. All I can say is thank you for a perfect stay, in a perfect location, with friendly, very helpful & happy staff who always greeted us with a smile, even the cleaning staff greeted us with a smile in the mornings too!
The food is excellent & superb value for money, we can only sing our praises for all the staff, nothing is too much trouble, such a refreshing experience, the staff are wonderful & do go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable & relaxed. Needless to say, we will be back to visit Weymouth & will definetly be staying at The Crown again. Thank you Annabel,Gary & Emma, thank you all for your wonderful sense of humour & your very professional & proficient manners. See you all again soon, kindest regards, James & Alexandra from Cardiff.

I just wanted to say what a great hotel the crown is. from the minute we arrived on friday for a girly weekend. we had 2 x twin rooms. they were all what we needed they were clean & comfortable the beds & pillows were nice. which is somthing that is important to me for a good nights sleep.
As for the staff they were lovely nothing was to much trouble. he even took our photos for us.
the parking in the garage at the hotel is a godsend. as we just parked up on the friday & did,nt use it until the sunday when we then moved it to the bowling alley across the road.
I have been going to weymouth for a few years. & never found this hotel. but now i have i will be using it.
the meals were such good value, for a 2 course meal it was £6.50 which we though was cheaper than eating else where.
it was central for the town centre to the shops & beach & nightlife.
A Hidden gem! cant wait to return soon
thankyou to all staff

Room Tip: We had rooms at the back but were were not to worried. as we were out till late. but if you go to be...
