“Perfect start to our holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at The Old Manor House, along with our 3month old baby and dog.

Dave greeted us with warmth and kindness even though we arrived late at night.

The room was perfect, loved the little touches of water in glass bottles, fruit juice, chocolates, biscuits and much more.

The cot bed was clean and fresh, and there was even a dog bowl left out for us.

Breakfast was superb, very tasty and the freshly squeezed orange juice was to die for!

We will most definitely be returning when we next find ourselves in Weymouth.

Many thanks for the best start to our holiday up in Derby.

Sam, Lucy, Harrison & Freddie x

We've just spent two nights at this lovely B and B. Not far from the hustle and bustle of Weymouth but in an idillic spot which feels miles from anywhere. I'm a little but reluctant to share this gem incase we can't get a room next time we're in town. We booked the family suite which was two separate room, a grown up space with antique furniture the other designed for the children with a nautical feel. Breakfast was fabulous and the breakfast room was complete with Welsh dresser. The owners are very welcoming. As you can tell I loved it!

As a family of 3 with a 9 year old and a young terrier dog I was slightly apprehensive as to what we would find at the Old Manor House. I have stayed at 'dog friendly' places before and frankly it was just code for the whole place covered in someone else's dog's hair! ..........I need not have been concerned. Our rooms were not only laid out beautifully but they were SPOTLESS! There was not a surface or piece of carpet that might be suspect. We had the family rooms upstairs which more than catered for our needs, from the all important pint of fresh milk being left in the room for my tea and a small fridge to store it in. TV's were in both rooms with lots of little touches to make my daughter feel welcome. Beds very comfortable and breakfast well worth getting up for, all of the building has been lovingly restored with really interesting pieces of furniture and whoever the previous dissatisfied poster spoke to I am quite sure it was neither Dave or Helen who were both helpful and unobtrusive!

Our early morning dog walks down the lane were so peaceful and a great way to wake up and get ready for breakfast and the day ahead. Located 7 minutes drive from Weymouth seafront, 40 minutes to Charmouth/Lyme Regis and 35 minutes to Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door, it was a perfect base for our weekend break. If we were in this part of the world again the Old Manor House would be the place that we would stay. Stay there, you won't regret it!

A really nice, relaxing place to stay. Don't do as I did and go there on business, getting there really late at night. Have a nice weekend away and enjoy it. Breakfast is delicious, there's parking and the rooms are pretty.

We stayed here before sailing back to Guernsey in January. The building itself is beautiful and the welcome we received was very friendly. We had a small dog with us and she was given a bowl and a mat; there are also lovely walks in the area. The room was spotless and the off road parking was very handy. Finally (and most importantly in my opinion!) the breakfast was really tasty. All in all we can thoroughly recommend The Old Manor House.

I booked a last min trip, for a pet owner this can be tricky especially for a GSD with a back/hip issue. I wasn't expecting much but was overjoyed with both the reception and facilities. The care and attention given to both myself and my doggy companion was unsurpassed the room was very comfortable having everything required, including those little extras which make life wonderful. Those of you with dogs pay attention - you would find it hard to find anything that competes. Facilities include access to a wet room, spare bowl and mat for our four legged friends and spare necessities including excellent range of hot drinks, toiletries all sited on the ground floor no tricky stairs to negotiate! Breakfast was amazing with an excellent choice catering for a wide range of tastes. This really is an amazing place - B&B as a description doesn't seem to do the Manor or its owners sufficient credit.

Room Tip: Just book it even if you are not travelling with a four legged friend you won't be disappointed.

We stayed in the family rooms (2 adults, 3 children) and it was perfect. The whole place is very clean and bright yet comfortable, warm and welcoming, The breakfast was the best I have had in a B&B. The thing that stood out most for me was the consideration made for the childrens needs from halloween sweets in the rooms to different sized cutlery for the youngest at breakfast.
