“Ups and Downs of a PI stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

We selected this hotel for a bank holiday Monday getaway to the seaside and it was located right on the sea front, as the hotel's title suggests. Fortunate enough to get a free parking space in the Premier Inn parking lot. £5 per day in adjacent car park in unlikely event all spaces taken.

What we didn't book was the weather! It was belting down, so we did arrive at the hotel well before check-in, i.e. 11:30. Nowhere to 'hang' within the complex before the 2pm check in and Brewers Fayre attached restaurant not open till 12:00. Spent two hours in restaurant with refillable coffee, tea, and pop, until could check in.

Reception staff were friendly. Booking in was easy and allocated a ground floor family room. These rooms usually cater for 2 adults and 2 small children. Due to an unexpected early arrival, our party had extended to include a newborn. No problem for staff who put a cot in the room. Slightly cramped now, but expected.

Issue with the room was temperature. The Inn is currently having air conditioning installed in all its rooms. Ours just had a plug in electric fan for our stay and this did not really moderate the room temperature as a tad too noisy to keep on all the time.

Bed was as comfy as ever though and the room and bathroom were clean and tidy.

Had paid for the Dinner/Breakfast deal and wish we hadn't as food quality was not great for dinner, and breakfast was no better. Breakfast was buffet style, and the food had a worn look to it, and taste was not much better. Would not eat there again.

So, in summary, once aircon update completed, would recommend Premier Inn Seafront, however, would eat elsewhere. Beefeater at the other Weymouth Premier Inn site do a nice PI breakfast, not too much of a drive away.

Just returned from spending 2 nights at Premier Inn Seafront Weymouth, got what we expected a spotlessly clean spacious room, with the most comfortable bed, duvet and pillows. We arrived early in the morning on our first day and was able to park the car and get a car park pass from reception. When we returned later we were dealt with by very friendly and efficient staff, I had checked in on line, so only needed to collect our key.
Our room on the ground room was great, unfortunately the people in the room above were very noisy, it sounded like a baby elephant was up there. Luckily they were quiet during the night, but woke us early on the last morning – sounded like they were rehearsing for a matching band contest. I would have liked a lie in before my drive back to the midlands. It wouldn’t deter me from staying here again, but would request a higher floor room.
Also, the room was incredibly warm, leave the fan on at all times and the window open. There was an AC unit in the room, would have needed to us it if we had been lucky enough to had really hot weather, but I prefer fresh air.
Didn’t pre-book breakfast at the Brewers Fayre, but when we did look in it seemed pretty chaotic, so went elsewhere. We booked a table for both evening and had nice meals, the only draw back is having to order your food at the bar, which involved a rather lengthy wait, but the food arrive quick enough, tip is open a tab, then you can order desserts and drinks without having to go back to the bar.

This was a great base for Weymouth seafront and sealife centre,
Clean, comfortable and set up nicely for a family of 4, easy parking.
Reaturant next door was lovely too, great breakfast and dinners too.

Family holiday to Weymouth and we stayed at the Premier Inn Weymouth Seafront.

Friendly Reception Staff and rooms were good, would suggest this hotel for family holidays because of the location to beach and you are next to the Lodmoor Country Park.
The walk into then town is lovely along the beach path and Greenhill Park Gardens.

Room Tip: No lift in this hotel but only 1 floor anyway so not much of a problem.

Excellent location. The staff were very friendly. The room temperature was too warm during the day time, but there were two fans in the room. They are now installing ACs. There were some noise of maintenance during the day time (possibly for the ACs) which was not very comfortable. Otherwise, quite good and good value for money.
